Haha. I have no idea what your comment means, but I'm curious as to why anyone would disagree.

Yeah, I think the sales figures aren't quite up to speed so far so I won't touch that yet. I don't agree with any other point but the one on marketing.

Genre? I really disagree with that. It seems to suggest that LBP itself doesn't "cater to the 'hardcore demographic'". Maybe I'm being a bit generous with my opinion of core gamers, but I think we tend to know what we're buying beforehand. Which means we know that it's a platformer on the surface...but that the main sel...

I agree, this is a great article. I know that not everyone will have the same level of customer service with MS, but it can and will be this bad at times. Even though I appreciate the 360 as such, RROD is the black mark for the system, period. And coupled with bad customer service, can quickly turn your client base into PS3 fans.

In my opinion, this is news seeing as many projected LBP's performance a bit higher or at least enough to help make PS3 the dominant console. Of course that ascension may still be in progress, only time will tell. (See how I did that Jaysquared? "In my opinion")

Anyway, I was hoping (perhaps too optimistically) that LBP would do a bit better than the list suggests. Still, I'd like to see some global numbers for a better idea of how it's selling.

This isn't an article. This is an ad for an article.

Valve can make good FPSs, yes, I agree.

But your other information is way off base. Your genres are crossed, Fox01. Blizzard is not a king of RPGs. Blizzard is famous for Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft, and WoW. That's dungeon crawler/hack n' slash, RTS, and MMORPG. And MMO is definitely not the same as a standard RPG.

Bioware is a better candidate.

This CAN'T be shocking.

Valve has a very public disdain for the PS3 or I get the sense of that when their representatives constantly talk nonsense about it. I thought about posting links, but anyone can google "Valve PS3". First page.

I get the feeling that Valve has absolutely no desire to transplant the game to PS3 and I wouldn't want them to with that attitude.

I was just typing up this exact post more or less.

I'm not a fan of either side, but I do know that I don't want publishers in place to hold a monopoly over how we buy our games.

How far can it go? Will the next step be software keys and online registration ala MMOs so used copies can't be played at all? Mind you, I'm not levelling this at Epic whose decisions I can appreciate on a business level, but it also gives me a very real scare as to where we could be heading...

One can only hope.

Well, I just started up a game of Fallout 3 on PC to be met with instant fail. My first run and it CTDs right after the intro. Every version of the game seems to have its peculiar issues so I'm guessing this was more a QA issue on Bethesda's part more than the failings of a particular console. I still can't walk through the Wastelands without crashing. It seems the problems are quite widespread.

Annoying, but we'll have to put it off until a suitable patch arrives. Let's not all ...

Another blow for Gamecock as well. Let's hope Replay gains them some respect with Velvet Assassin. *fingers crossed*

I don't understand how Spark could get it so wrong. Didn't they make a successful Call of Duty once upon a time? So how do you screw up something as essential as targeting in a FPS?

Hopefully they'll get the sharing part up in the near future. I don't think the wait is a huge deal so far unless you're impatient.

But I can certainly understand eagerness to take advantage of, arguably, the biggest selling point of the game.

Really. How many people play Galaxies now? I don't know the exact number but I'm damn sure it's not in the millions.

Well, patches are good and bad. They allow quick fixes to new problems and can add (presumably) cut content. I agree with the general spirit of the article that devs should still strive for the most perfect product possible though. Anything less would be pretty irresponsible of a business. The easier it is to get into your game the first time, the better everyone will like it.

That said, there are always unforeseeable flaws in design, and patches should exist to correct them. But...

Thank you, Lumbo, for making sense of that tripe.

I'm all for Vista pride and all that, but god, only the most myopic of users would insist that a 'better' OS logically requires an expensive new rig. Ignorance is astounding.

8gb of ram... That gave me a good laugh.

I agree. A corporate-owned forum is not exactly unbiased. I've seen forums wherein the poster can face a ban for simply saying something 'anti-(company name here)'. I don't know if this is the way EA does business, but I'm also not willing to chance it. I'd rather be able to post my honest opinions than face a constant fear that they could kill my gaming experience.

Stuff like this makes me think it's a bad idea gaming ever came out of the basement.

Please, I think everyone's being a bit harsh on the article. Once you read it in it's entirety, it's not logical to arrive at the conclusion that the author believes the Wii to be a failure. The title needs no work. He describes "how the Wii has failed" in certain areas of gaming. No one's saying the Wii hasn't succeeded financially or as a console, but it has failed to deliver in some respects which I think the author outlines decently.

Just because it's negative doesn...

I hope they at least make the story more accessible than having to read a damn novel for a simple fetch quest. That's annoying in ANY game, MMO or no. As for the main question of the article, I think it comes far too early in the development cycle of the game.

We still know very little besides the promises.

6327d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I won't say the article is wrong. I will however state that it makes egregious errors in attempting to 'inform' us and should be met with copious laughter.

If any site/blog makes these kinds of bold claims, we should be seeing a source (aka proof) and not just the spirited ravings of a blogger who addresses our concerns not with the awaited PROOF, but with a CONTEST.

Priorities, please?

Well, I have no idea if this was submitted to N4G or know how to check that. But this PC World Article covers quite a bit more ground. Including how MS will address memory woes.
