I think the article is misinterpreting the "Haters" from the "Hardcore".
Haters will always hate, gamers will play games.
Sega has a tendency to kill their own franchise by putting them on the wrong platform and even if its on the right platform it takes them too long to follow up on a sequel that kills the franchise.
Just look at Sakura Taisen, Panzer Dragoon, Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue to name a few.
Now Valkyria Chronicles may be following in those footsteps. X_X
