It's never right but it seems like it can always be counted on. Whenever one company is doing worse in the public eye, the fanboys of the more successful system like to pile on the insults. Then they defend it by saying "Last gen it was the other way around, deal with it". It's a sad state of affairs. The internet is a strange place indeed.
It's xbox. The console people love to hate. By the looks of a lot of people's comments, "hating on xbox" is their favorite game. No console needed even. If it was sold on PS4 it would be the best selling game of this generation.

I wish it seemed crazy. The fanboyism of this generation of gaming has gotten out of control. It's so strong that I find myself getting pulled into it every now and then and have to check myself.

The quality of build is just one facet of an overall view of the console. Even with its abysmal failure rate, it managed to keep on selling millions which would tend to lend to the fact that there were plenty of other quality characteristics of the console. I don't think it reached its software attachment rate and fan base because of its failure rate, do you? The fact that QUALITY to you is all about build, I have a bowling bowl to sell you. 100% success rate. Just be careful carrying it ...
I hope it does great. Still working to get through the first 3. Honestly I think Bloodborne did so well because it wasn't talked about all that much before release so the hype levels, while still there, were not nearly as extreme as UC4 or Halo or any of the other bigger established IPs. Hype this generation has done a lot of harm I think. People are resistant to even try games after reading reviews about being let down after all the hype for a lot of games. I have a lot of money invested...
I don't really think there is anything extra graphical capability in the x1 otherwise we'd see it in the multiplat titles. The ps4 always has the better performing multiplats so that's why I'm curious how the xbox has better streaming capability. HEVC 10-bit encoding is no light task.
Your take on the 360 being quality or not is a personal opinion. Based on the amount of praise it received and still does it is STILL considered a QUALITY console by a great many people. Opinions don't make fact. Irony is based on a FACTUAL statement being the opposite of what is intended, not the opposite of a fanboy's opinion.
Yes hevc is great for reduced bandwidth but requires way more power to encode than h264. That is why I'm curious how the xbox pulls it off while the ps4 is stuck with 720p h264 encoding. Bitrate has nothing to do with power. MPEG2 has a huge bitrate but is old and inefficient as a codec.

I've been so on the fence of picking up a steam link. I acquired an nvidia shield from a friend of mine and had to put a gtx 760 in my pc in place of my r9 280x just to stream to the nvidia. I wish steam would just release an android steam link app but I guess that would be shooting themselves in the foot sales wise if they have to push the steam link.
How? You're experiencing how. Always a business decision that decides these things. If you think about it, there is no reason why they couldn't stream ps4 games to the ps3 either but they don't. MS could stream x1 games to the 360 but they don't. They want you to buy one of their newer devices to stream even though older equipment is perfectly capable.

Don't bother. Once UC4 releases you'll see the same posts but in the opposite direction. PS4 gamers will be praising it while xb1 fanboys will point out every minor hitch in the game. It's an endless cycle this generation.
