Nintendo tries to innovate not just get newer. At the time of the Wii it was time for a new console. All of the big three are losing money on consoles sold right now. That's just something they hope to make up in the long run. The Wii U will be fine once they fully get in gear. They can't afford for it not to be. Well I guess they can but, they won't.
Although perceived lack of power for the Wii U or lack of a better 3rd party relationship might be an explanation. An alternative theory is that Sony has had a working relationship with Nvidia, Microsoft being at the helm of PC's of course has a relationship with them. Not the case with Nintendo who hasn't had such a relationship. Couple that with being aligned with their biggest ally for over a decade and that may not be something they are just itching to do. Just another possibility...

I don't think the Wii U's fate will be decided by any one title. Don't be surprised by a few surprised by a few new games announced for the Wii U. The 3DS wasn't selling well then Nintendo lowered the price then games started flowing freely. You don't think Nintendo will do what they can to have lightning strike twice???
It's just a hashtag. Since the PS4 is new out and soon to be there it makes sense. It will be interesting to see how it does there with few games out that would appeal to the Japanese market in large numbers.
I say it's about a 50/50 chance. Projections don't pan out all of the time. At the same time period the Wii U sold close to the same numbers. The main holiday period is over now and sales can change drastically. If, the Wii U has killer games released by then or PS4 does that can have a big effect on the outcome.
Unfortunately they can and that's the problem.
Is that Michael Jordan after he won the championship that time?
Wow! That's a big statement considering their software makes memory about 9 times more efficient.
Maybe Vita TV might do well but, I don't expect much from the regular Vita.
There is a difference between overpriced and a price people are want to pay for it. By your criteria all of them are overpriced. If, Nintendo had a history of skimping on the hardware outside of one replacement all of my Nintendo consoles (NES and beyond) wouldn't still be in working order. The gamepad is a pricey tech. They have to pay r&d, advertise, have it manufactured, and retail has to get their cut. All the new consoles are being sold at a loss.
Not only a chance. It's very likely. Many folks are waiting for certain games to come out. Mariokart for some, X for others, those for the next official Zelda, there's Bayonetta, Smash Brothers also, Donkey Kong, Watch Dogs too and that's only what we know of lol. If, you think Nintendo doesn't have tricks up it's sleeve coming out first you are sadly mistaken. There will be much more games to come.
Good luck to everybody.
I wouldn't say it is out of the realm of possibility.I will explain the angle I am coming from. If, you notice one subtle thing about their competition. Almost like having manners. They each focus on a different market. XBOX ONE is the all in one media device, the PS4 is the super power gaming console and the Wii U is the family gaming device and Sony CEO admits to owning two Wii U's. This is in a time where cell phones and Steam are increasing their market share. Developing and produ...
I don't know if, we'd ever see that. I do think they should have a unified console all three , each make their own compatible controllers for it, have their own channel and sell 300-400 million units next go around.
2014 will be the year Nintendo makes people eat their words "it's not strong enough," "it won't sell." The Wii U was just getting it's feet wet. Now it's time to swim.
I don't think so unless it happened under these circumstances. If, they continued to make and sell the Wii U. If, you allowed current Wii U owners to just pay the difference to upgrade to the new console. If, it did everything the Wii U did but, better with support for four gamepads. Also, if. it plays the same Wii U games but, they have more higher end features when played on the new systems. Other than that no.
The Wii U's problem isn't weak hardware. It's t...
I agree and they know it is best for the industry for them all to succeed. On a related note I think the next next gen should have a unified system. The home systems themselves aren't that profitable for any of them anymore. That coupled with more competitors would make sense.
Nintendo will be fine. The reason although XBOX ONE and PS4 are hot right now they aren't really profitable right now. So in that sense they are in the same boat as the Wii U. Since Nintendo came out first you better believe they have more up their sleeve.
I doubt that but, they should do well though. They need more than just specs to win it over there.
