135 dollar ps2 can't even sell half as much as the 400 dollar 360...lol...and thats with the 360 still having the shortages then. lol....I see piles and piles of ps2's collecting dust at 135 each. Every quarter the sales go up for the 360. I figured sales would slow the closer we got to the launch of the Wii and the ps3. But they are going up. Wow. Interesting. And thats without Gears of War, Mass Effect, Halo 3, And Gta 4.
PlayStation 2 hardware didn't fare as well, dropping from 2.5 million units at this time last year to 1 million units.
Microsoft sold a quarterly record high 1.8 million game consoles, raising its total sales to 5 million globally.
Blu ray use to hold more data. with a tri layer duel sided HD dVD rom you can get 90 GB's of data. Thats beyond what anyone would ever need for movies or games. WOW....Smart move Microsoft.
A single-layer Blu-ray disc (BD) has enough storage capacity (25GB) for approximately two hours of high-definition video with audio. A dual-layer (50GB) BD can hold enough data for approximately four hours of HD video.
HD DVD has a a single-layer capacity of 15 GB and a dual-layer capacity of 30 GB. Toshiba has announced a triple-layer disc which offers 45GB to 90GB of storage

You would think that with the PS3 and the Wii coming out soon the sales would decrease for the 360. But instead they are steadily increasing. And thats with out system sellers like Gears of War, Mass Effect, Halo 3 , and GTA 4. Thats amazing. How is it that the momentum is building with 360 sales as the launch of the ps3 gets closer? Interesting wouldn't you say?

The Cell's seven DSPs (what Sony calls SPEs) have no cache, no direct access to memory, no branch predictor, and a different instruction set from the PS3's main CPU. They are not designed for or efficient at general purpose computing. DSPs are not appropriate for game programming.
Xbox 360 has three general purpose CPU cores. The Cell processor has only one.
ATI delivered its 500-MHz Xenos GPU to Microsoft 16 months after signing the development contract (a time frame only one month shorter than the one IBM accomplished with Xenon). The dual-die Xenos design has impressive peak-performance specifications, including 24 billion shader instructions/sec, a 4 billion-pixel/sec fill rate, and a 500 million-triangle/sec geometry-processing rate. Xenos comprises 250 million transistors in the main, TSMC-fabricated and logic-centric die and 80 million tra...
Thanks. I don't know whats wrong with Jin. He is a poor sport. All this don't matter Jin. So what if the 360 is more powerful. So what...for real. Its about the games Jin. When the games come out then we can compare. Who cares if you have a 600 dollar grill to make burgers on and I have a 400 dollar grill. It doesn't mean your burgers are going to taste better than mine. Its about the cook....the developer....the ease of the grill....ect....so we will see who's burgers people all ov...

your right. And Me and 130 million other people don't want Gods of war either. Thanks but no thanks. lol....lol....lol
1.5 million copies of Gods of War have been sold.
103 ps2 owners
24 million xbox owners
5 million 360 owners.
130 million people who can give a rats azz about Gods of War. We want GTA....40 million games sold.
We want the Halo series..... 15 million games sold.
Thats...
Get it? The 360 has 3 times the amount of processing powers. 3 PPE's to the Cells 1 PPE. lol....SPE are better for floating point processing but those are best suited for hd streaming rather than next gen game code. Get it yet? lol....Its ok. Your a little late to the party.....lol
The discrepancies between Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PS3 (PlayStation 3), whose release schedule and price aren't yet public, begin with their CPUs (Figure 3). The Cell CPU swaps out two of the three Xenon PPEs, along with half of the L2 cache, for eight SPEs (synergistic processor elements).

You aren't reading what you write. PPE is a core. 360 has 3 and ps3 has 1. Its that simple. Read what you write buddy. lol...lol
lol...what does that have to do with game content? lol...and movie content? lol...thats for computer storage. lol.... a 4 hour hd movie only uses 40 gigs. No need for 200. lol....not for movies or games. lol... My point is we can go on and on but there is no difference between blu ray and hd dvd. Oh, except the price. 500 dollar difference....wow....
