Sony cited continued research and development costs in efforts to meet the goal of six million PS3 units shipped by March 31, 2007.
That means their goal is to ship 1.2 million ps3's a month. Thats their goal. So they hope to have 2 million ps3's sold by the end of this year according to their newly released numbers. So like I said...360 will have 10 million sold by the end of the year and ps3 might have 2 million if things go well. lol....

Are casual gamers. Now the big question. Will Casual gamers spend 600 dollars when they only buy 3 games a year or less. Will they spend 3 times the amount on a console than they did last gen. With most consumers buyting the ps2 when the price was 200 and under. We will see. We will see. lol

5 million sold in 7 months. And yes its the fastest in history but if their wouldn't have been hardware shortages more would have sold. These next 5 months sales should pick up drastically with Big titles and ps3 shortages sure to come.
When the xbox came out in late 2002 the ps2 had already been out for 2 years. The ps2's price had already dropped to 199 and the xbox was the new kid on the block at 299. And even with over a 2 year lead in sales the xbox still managed to pass Nintendo and obtain 24 million consumers. And put out many million plus sellers. With halo and halo 2 leading the way with 14.5 million sold. This time around....xbox is out 1 year early ONLY due to sony's delays due to low yields and problems with...

I've read that link before. They talk about blu ray being the future. But blu ray don't help games. Not the way some of you think it will. It will help with hd video. But it can't do anything that multi dvd discs can't do. And also...if enough hd dvd add ons sell...I bet developers if they need to...will make games that utilize the hd dvd. But I'm tired. For the 360 to only hit 8 million that would mean that the sales would have to drop to 1.5 million every quarter from July to December 31st. lol....Thats with Gears of War and other system sellers on the way...lol....Even if sales stay the same with the big titles to come...the 360 would hit 9 million. That would mean no spike in sales with the exclusive titles and Christmas bundles. lol...What ever MS ships. Will sell. And they plan on shipping 10 to 12 million by the end of the year. ...
5 million 360's sold the fastest. as of June. Every quarter the sales have gone up. Quarter 4...2005 1.3 million. Quarter 1...2006 1.7 million Quarter 2....2006 1.8 million sold. The momentum is building and thats without Gears of War, Mass Effect, Saints Row, fable 2, Forza 2 and more still coming this year. They said that before they pushed back their blu ray drive to october and before the coninual low yields of the cell. But its cool. Its always good to shoot high...It will never post on this site again if they sell 4 million by the end of the year. I just don't see them producing that many with the problems they have been having. Xbox live arcade is exciting. I check it every day for new content to download. Its great...And at gamespot.com all the titles I mention are confirmed as coming to the 360. I only mention the ones coming out soon. You see even though some of them will be ported to the ps3. You never know. Many have been getting cancelled as of late. Don't be surprised if you see more 360 games to be ported to the ps3 get cancelled for the ps3. Its a new trend. with at most only 2 or 3 million ps3's s...
This year for the 360...sometimes it gets overwhelming. If I missed some...forgive me. Did I get Saints Row or Ninety Nine Nights?
