Microsoft claimes it sold 28 million. VG chartz has it within 1 million of that, it's not ridiculous to think they might actually have sold 28 million worldwide. Microsoft is only .1 million away from being up 8 million as it stands right now.

The game wasn't that boring. Have you played it? or are you assuming it's boring based off the negative reviews that plastered this site for 2 weeks? That was by far a bigger media sh!tstorm than anything related to PS3 right now.
That still doesn't account for every other week this past summer where "RROD" "360 is dead" "M$ is ruining games" covered the front page, and I guarantee you none of those came from places like CNN and NYTimes.
EA doesn't have publishing rights to anything in the mass effect universe.
It's Bioware/Pandemic and MGS that work on mass effect. EA gets rights if MGS declines publishing it though (which MGS would have to be dumb to do).
