No, I am sure the game was not originally conceived to be this way. The Order suffered from so many issues while being created.. That's why the game is so bare bones. The cinematic hype RaD used was just because that was the game they were forced into.

I also remember the ps1 days having tons of 100+ hour JRPGs for 49.99...any generation that we have had have plenty of long games to go along with the short ones
The difference is people are cynical of the gaming industry as a whole... Broken games etc... There is a general feeling like gamers are constantly being nickeled and dimed... So a short game for full price in this climate doesn't sit well.
I have a feeling we will be seeing half of the reviews like this and another half in the 60 percent range... It will metacritic out high 60s low 70s

I also bet the people who enjoy the game will over inflate their scores to compensate for the negatives and the negatives will the same but vice versa. My buddy sent me the trailer as I had never heard of... The whole trailer feels like star ship troopers so yeah I'm excited now... Will even be better if it's part of ps plus for March!
I finally purchased Diablo 3...bought it on pc day one and hated it, everyone raved about the console versions changes but I couldn't bring myself to spend any other 60 on the same game... 32 is a much more appealing number
I agree. Wolfenstien was fine because of the length... It was long enough to warrant a purchase without Multiplayer. Most people don't run through shorter games a million times so the lack of mp in a game that's settings really could have knocked it out of the park is a negative
I just don't understand why this game doesn't have a gears of War esq Multiplayer... It seems like it's built for it... I could see if the story was 15 to 20 plus hours... But 5 to 7 and no Multiplayer... Man they must have had more issues with the game than people knew

People value different things when they part with their 60 bucks. The beauty of it is you may think 60 bucks is great for 7 hours of game play. Heck you may ever play it over and over and get 700 hours. I had some people tell me they got 200 out of MGS ground zeroes.
Some players however will just wait for a price drop before jumping in for a game that is short in length and no multiplayer

The game was short because of its development hitches... That's why it's barebones... Adding Multiplayer to a sequel could not make the game shorter if they tried
