MS miscalculated. Xbox One is not a console focused on gaming first - it's trying to compete with other multimedia set top boxes as well as consoles that are first focused on gaming. Voice command for menu navigation is available on Xfinity's X1 platform and Amazon's fire platform as well as the (though some what limited at this point) PS4. Motion control introduced in the last generation has been soundly rejected by gamers as a fad so the bundling of the kinect with the the Xbo...
Titanfall would have sold a lot more if EA hadn't shot themselves in the foot by excluding the Playstation platforms. Despite that, since it's currently bundled for no extra cost with the Xbox One, it's FPS multiplayer, and it's available on PC and Xbox 360 as well, it should easily outsell Infamous Second Son. Infamous Second Son has sold very well for a single player game that is only available on one platform with an install base of about 7 million so, Sony should be very ...
Played the game with a 100% completion rate in good karma mode and did not get this glitch. Now on my second play through in evil karma mode with a 70% completion rate and still haven't seen this glitch. Glitches I have seen: 1; Delsin being absorbed by one of the DUP spires. 2; after falling in the water during the boss fight with Augustine's concrete soldier/monster on the bridge to the Lantern district, I experienced an almost depleted life bar for the boss but no boss to fight - ...
According to MS, DirectX12 won't be coming to The X1 until Holiday 2015. Seems a bit early to be getting excited about it. http://www.shacknews.com/ar...
Optional service is the key here. Wouldn't be surprised to see MS follow Sony's lead and provide a similar service. MS and Sony competing hard for our money is usually good. If PS Now is successful, MS will almost definitely roll out a similar service. For example MS is already responding to PS+s monthly 'free games' by offering better 'free games' on Xbox Live for the 360 (Hitman this month.)Unfortunately, there is a flip side to this as well. For example Sony is now ...
In the show, I've seen them playing Nintendo consoles(Wii and N64) and Xbox 360 but never seen them play or even mention any Playstation consoles. I would be surprised if Sheldon chose the PS4.
I don't have a problem with MS and Sony charging for premium services. $60 or $50 per year ain't a big deal. However, Netflix and similar services are not premium. MS should not require any additional fees for services that are not hidden behind a pay wall by their Xbox brand's competitors. It's not good business plain and simple. Gamers interested in multiplayer online games are still going to buy gold. Those of us who prefer single player games may do so as well if MS conti...
Since this thread is based on VGChartz here is is more up to date info. Week ending March 22nd from VGchartz HW totals have been posted: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz... PS4 leads in the USA and Europe again. Probably due to a combination of increased supply, Infamous Second Son and the new Metal Gear game.
Agree. Motion gaming should not be compared to VR gaming. Motion controlled gaming, imo, was a last generation fad. MS made a huge mistake by including the kinect 2.0 with the Xbox One console(voice and motion control of menus is not a killer app and MS has yet to release a game that justifies the existence of the kinect 2.0.) Even Nintendo, who pioneered motion gaming, has moved away from it with the Wii U. VR could turn out to be a fad for this generation as well however, it's not bei...
"We're in this to win," is a statement sure to get the Fanboys riled up. I thought MS was against fanboyism. As long as Sony and MS compete, make good games and sell lots of PS4s and Xbox Ones all gamers will be winners. This is not a sport, neither Sony nor MS need to 'win' the console war.
Don't forget that Mlb: The Show, is exclusive to Playstation (it's on the PS3 as well.) The PS4 version is coming in May. I agree there hasn't been a lot of AAA content released for PS4 since launch but that's typical for a newly launched console. Thankfully, I still have plenty of games to play on my PS3, 360, 3ds and Vita so it's not bothering me too much. Just got Infamous SS and played it a for few hours - it's freaking awesome and is exactly one of the types of...
Take your fanboy glasses off - no one knows enough, including the source you sited, to know how well Project Morpheus will perform. A prototype is not a final product.
The new MGS game coming out soon will probably help sales.
Liked the way Zimmerman gave an honest answer to the questions. The choice not to include night/day cycles and realistic shadows was made for stylistic and practical reasons. The Infamous series has never been about hyper realism. It has a pulp scifi/comic book feel to it. The environment is used to lend mood and ambiance to the story - it's not a depiction of the real world. Yeah they could have chosen a more realistic approach but why? How would a day/night cycle and realistic shadow e...
While I am a fan of the Infamous series, I doubt it will crush Titanfall sales wise. Fps games are generally more popular than 3rd person action/adventure/cover shooter games. For example Cod Black ops sold almost 14 million ww compared to Uncharted 2's 6.35 million sold. I don't expect Titanfall to match Cod's sales because it's a new ip and it's
not available on the PS4 but I'd be surprised if it sold less than Infamous. It's also available on 3 platform...
From the comments I've read on various threads in the past few months, lot of people were waiting for Infamous Second Son to come out before buying the PS4. I think it will be a system seller but not in a huge way. Pretty sure that Titanfall has more pre-orders than Infamous SS in the USA just on the Xbox One alone (I have no idea what its WW preorder numbers are.) But Fps multiplayer games are more popular than 3rd person single player action games especially in the US so that's not...
Well I'm a parent. My kid's are 24 and 25 (Yeah I'm pretty old.) My kids started watching South Park with me when they were around 7 and 8 back when the series started. It had absolutely no ill effect upon them as they are both successful and well adjusted adults. Kid's are going to see or hear the stuff that's in South Park (Family Guy, American Dad as well) even if you try to protect them from it. Best thing is to allow them to play or view the stuff that will supposedly...
I played the prior games through twice (these are the only two games I've ever played through twice.) I agree with 'The Twelve' it would be nice if the second play through didn't require you to collect the collectibles again. There were over 300 freaking blast shards in Infamous 2. Can't remember how many there were in the first one but there were several hundred. Some sort of New Game + option with a full battery core bar would be nice. Whatever happens, I will still pla...
I currently own 3ds, PS Vita, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 - I am not devoted to MS, Sony or Nintendo. However, I will not be purchasing an Xbox One or Wii U anytime soon (maybe in a couple of years we'll see.) As a consumer I have come to distrust MS hardware and MS Xbox executives because of the RROD, 2013 E3 Xbox One reveal and continuing bs from their pr department and I have grown tired of the same old ips being rehashed by Nintendo on their consoles (the 3ds has a lot more 3rd party s...
Agree. Also, despite the doom and gloom surrounding Sony's financial status, the Playstation brand would likely survive even if Sony goes under. Another company will buy it at the very least. Both the Xbox and Playstation brands are not going anywhere soon despite what happens with their parent companies.
