The negative press was deserved and just reflected what the general gaming public thought about the 2013 reveal. MS's vision for the future of gaming consoles was soundly rejected and they're still paying for it.

This is a BS article. It cites no sources other than an MS guy. In the US - the Xbox One Kinectless sku is sitting at #51 on Amazon while the PS4 has 2 skus, the standard and the Desiny bundle, sitting at #11 and #33 on Amazon respectively. Sales may have picked up, but not enough to catch up with the PS4.

I'm being kind here, but I don't think it's a case of MS lying but more of a case of the MS PR dept. believing that their console was capable of doing much more than it was ever capable of. Good sales people believe in the products they're selling and are some times betrayed by their optimism. That said, gamers should be skeptical of anything MS, given their recent history with the Xbox One, promises.

Money grab my a-s! PS3 has a user base of more than 80 million and the PS4 has a user base of more than 8 million. The Last Of Us sold about 6 million copies so, there's obviously a huge user base that never played the game. The phrase 'cash grab' implies rip off. Nothing wrong with companies like ND, Sony or MS with the Halo collection trying to maximize products. You need to make money to make more games and AAA video games aren't cheap to produce. I imagine ND will make a tidy profit on the Last Of Us Remastered because there is obviously a demand for it. The profit they make will help them develop resources for future games and the experience and research it took to develop the game for the PS4 will help them to improve on future efforts.
