Story Time:
I doubt this will be the official name for that version, Maverick would actually be cool...but with marketing names in focus an interesting story makes me think of the Chevy Nova.
Turns out marketing is important. Why? When the Chevy Nova was introduced in Mexico it sold poorly. Why? Because in Spanish “No va” means “It doesn’t go”.
The Xbox SAD edition won’t is nothing like it. Just wanted to spread some insightful knowle...
I’ve always wondered how consoles got silly nicknames that people would call them by. Your comment did not disappoint! This is how trends get started I guess.
Good whity humor!
“As long as Microsoft can build a solid consumer base.”
The consumer base has practically become solidified now with digital taking over a large chunk of sales this gen. Why would someone jump brands if they can’t access their library on the brand library they built up this gen?
“I also wasn't in the other downgrade articles for Sony games...”
@gangsta_red
Lmao! No one is even talking about Sony! 😂 we’re talking about Crackdown and GamePass. Please stay on topic, it’s a good month at $2 for it with Crackdown coming out.
“No XB1 model costs $500. And you can buy a Best Bey branded battery pack for $20.”
Yes there are. A rechargeable for $20? So....an extra purchase for something it should already have?
An additional purchase? On top of a $500 purchase? Sounds like the early 360 days.
Next two gens? I doubt it. They’ve literally invested millions into transitioning and supporting GamePass. Which isn’t even a Netflix type streaming service. So I can see them leaving the console market by 2025 and providing a much bigger in scope delivery of gamepass to mobile or other consoles and PC.
The tech we’ll have by 2025 in mobile and PC will be vastly better to support stuff like PSNow or any similar streaming service.
I remember saying that this would happen. I got an immense amount of disagrees and fanboys saying it wasn’t going to happen and only wishful thinking.
Now those same individuals are praising MS for this. Last gen is probably the final one for MS with this shift in focus, it only makes sense. Especially with the financial report that came out recently.
Some of the worst math I’ve ever seen on this site. Sorry but we’re all smart enough and aware that subscriber and profit success is based on more than just dividing two numbers...
In all honesty, I always felt like it was more of an art style change not a downgrade. It definitely has more of an arcade like game feel to it, and I think we’re all aware that many developers change artstyling to achieve better performance.
This is one of those games I’d say. An example of a downgrade is something like the first Divison where there was no art style change. Just simply a downgrade of the game overall in features and other visual components.
MGS4 to send off the beauty and beast of last gen. Nice.
Onrush is a very close game in comparison, I highly recommend it to any true arcade racing fan.
Your taste is beyond the point. Xbox Game Pass isn’t even a contender for the “Netflix of Gaming” model. It has no streaming.
Netflix: Streams Movies with the option to download
PSNow: Streams games with the option to download
Yet PSNow, a service which holds the largest share of this market, isn’t mentioned once? Clearly the author doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
You hit every nail on the head. Xbox fanboys tried to justify the $500 price points of this gen by saying it offered the best value and that Sony did worse last gen.
PS3 started at $500 and came with more value at the time than what they tried to play Kinect off as.
If you think all 12 of their studios are releasing games next year, then you’re in for a disappointing... you know what, never mind. I’ll let this play out the way “cloud tech” and “dx12” did 😊
“With few exceptions, PlayStation has done little to introduce new and innovative ideas to console gaming”
So things like RemotePlay (from anywhere, not confined to the same network), Shareplay, PSVR and PSNow aren’t innovative? And those are just a few.
I can see MS trying to copy each one of these by next gen. They half-attempted to copy remote play, but left it confined to the same network. VR will all of a sudden be cool once they attempt it... they’...
There’s little to no latency unless you internet barely meets the requirements.
Been playing MGS4 again since this announcement and it plays just like it did on PS3.
