"Things were different a decade ago"
How much does Sony charge for 8MB today?

Your argument is like saying oil companies are ripping people off by making them pay for gas to use their own car. After all, someone could travel for free on a bicycle.
Do you really think anyone pays for an internet connection for the sole purpose of playing Xbox Live? The internet is used for many puropses - nobody is being charged by MS to use their own internet.
Every day that passes reduces the "edge" that PS3 has with it's built in Blu Ray player. Millions of people already own stand-alone players, and millions more will buy one this year. Players are consistently available for less than $100. A PS3 will be a good value to someone looking for a Blu Ray player AND a gaming console at the same time, but for the millions of people who bought a Blu Ray player in the last few years, PS3's Blu Ray capability will be meaningless.
His response is no different from the dozens of GT5 supporters here - who also haven't played the game yet - declaring it the best racing game ever made.
Gaming has changed dramatically in the last 5 years - mostly in favor of shooters (on BOTH consoles). Shooter franchises are the top selling games on both 360 & PS3.
We will really have to wait and see if the GT franchise will still attract the amount of players that it did in the PS1 and PS2 days, especially in the face of competition from the nearly endless parade of popular shooter franchises that dominate both the PS3 and 360 sales charts. This is a phenomenon tha...
It's really no different from how PS3 supporters say "Sure, 360 may be ahead of PS3 in the U.S., but Japan makes up the difference and then some".
As far as the Gamestop trade in offer goes, that really wouldn't affect the sales numbers. If someone trades in an old 360 for a new one, that is considered a sale, even though it's the same person. Gamestop will then sell the used 360 to someone else, which is not considered a sale as reported by VGChar...
Where are you getting your information from? How many copies of those PS3 games that you mention were sold in May?
And, where do 360 games such as Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell, & Alan Wake rank in relation to those PS3 games? I'm sure some 360 owners were buying those games as well as RDR.
Or, are you just talking out of your @#%?
"How can you have #10, 9, 8, and 4 on that list. Those systems didn't even win that generation. And #4 will be third this generation haha"
Ah yes, the classic "sales equal quality" argument.
By your reasoning, a top ten list would not even be possible since we are on the sixth generation now, and you seem to believe that only the "winners" should be listed.
Video games were considered a fad after the crash in the mid 1980's.
Nintendo resurrected the industry by making quality games that nearly everyone can enjoy, thereby legitimizing the industry and paving the way for the next 25 years (and counting).
Halo series (FPS), Halo Wars (RTS), Gears of War series (TPS), Forza (Racing Sim), Alan Wake (Horror/Adventure), Splinter Cell (Stealth), Crackdown (Action), Fable (RPG), Project Gotham 3 & 4 (Arcade Racing).
You were saying about variety?
Funny how you've disappeared for the past 9 months while VGChartz showed PS3 outselling 360.
Suddenly, 360 is back on top, and out of the woodwork you crawl with your ridiculous conspiracy theories.
Just an amazing coincidence I guess.
So, wanting to buy the console with the highest number of 80+ rated exclusives is now called being a tightwad?
PS1 and Saturn were the first consoles to use 3D polygon graphics almost exclusively, but the Dreamcast added a level of polish that, for the first time in console history, exceeded arcade games of the time.
An Anti-PS3 viral campaign started by a Gran Turismo fan website? You really believe that?
You call out anyone questioning GT5's quality as an idiot, then you make an idiotic remark yourself.
A REAL racing game fan is capable of recognizing quality regardless of what console it's for. Clearly, you are not a real racing fan - you are just a fan of a certain console.
@ArcFatalix - you obviously haven't even played the game you're dismissing.
It's 250GB!!!
Why would you need to replace it??
You can fully install over 30 games and still have plenty of space left over.
@darkride - keep your head buried in the sand and convince yourself that MS bribes everyone for positive press.
EDIT @ below - I guess I can look to some recent Move articles to see what PS3 loyalists have been saying about Move's problems, including lag. "It's new tech - there will be some issues". "They still have to work out some kinks". "It will all be fixed by the time it releases".
@above - the comment that I fi...
First line of the article: "Kinect has impressed us at E3"
You both deserve to lose bubbles for not reading the article.
So, you're going to spin it by saying it's not a flash drive? It's still flash memory, regardless of how it's encased.
I never said the MS drive wasn't expensive. I was simply pointing out the double standard (as was DizzleK). So many people here are determined to hate on anything MS does that they forget that their favorite "awesome" console manufacturer has been doing, and still does, the same thing.
Would you agree that ...
