Sega used to say the same thing about the Saturn. It's dual processors have far more untapped potential than the PS1's single processor.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it - the US alone accounts for about 40% of worldwide sales. I challenge anyone to name another single country that even accounts for half of the US's sales. It has nothing to do with ignoring the rest of the world. MS has significant market share in the other 60% of the world too. MS just knows what the biggest prize is in the console war. MS will do just fine in the rest of the world as well, even if they don't dominate elsewhere. The only coun...

Hopefully MS gets it right next time? Are you joking? Since when is outselling a competitor who outsold you 6:1 last generation not "getting it right"? Gamers care about 3 things - Games, Games, and Games. The 360 has more games that people want - simple as that. As for reliability, look at the PS1. It was notorious for being defective. For a time, Gamestop wouldn't even buy them back - they were that unreliable. Remember having to turn it upside down just to play? Yet peop...

Please post some links (to repuatble sources) to back up your opinion that 360 has not sold 27 million yet, that PS3 is over 20 million, and that only MS reports "shipped" numbers". Without proof, your claims have no validity.

Sony will spin their numbers just like MS. Remember, this is just a press release, not an official financial statement. Neither console is going to die anytime soon. If Sony is at 20 million, that will sustain them for a long time. Systems that died early, like the Saturn and Dreamcast, never reached over 10 million.

The 360 may be economical, but it plays about 80% of the EXACT same games as the "luxury" PS3. Unless most consumers are swayed by the few PS3 exclusives over the few 360 exclusives, it will be hard to justify spending $400 to play games that a $200 can play just as well. As game production costs continue to rise, exclusives are only going to be rarer. Why would a developer want to limit their potential audience to 20 million, when they can go multi-platform and have an audience ...

MS "cheated" by releasing a year sooner? By that logic, I guess Sony cheated with the PS2 by releasing a year before the Xbox.

The 33% RROD was limited to the launch consoles - it is not that high anymore. People will buy the console that plays the games they want regardless of reliability. Remember the PS1? Having to turn it upside down to play games? Did it cause people to flock to the Saturn? No. Or even the original NES - having to blow on the cartridges, or constantly pushing up and down on the spring loaded door to connect the contacts? Did people turn to the more reliable Sega Master System? Again, no....

"Double the price" assumes ALL 360 sales were Arcade units. Even though figures aren't broken down by sku, I doubt that MS sold nothing but Arcades.

The reviewers have played it, the public has not. How about waiting until the game is actually released before disagreeing with the reviews?

Funny how anti-Sony articles are "corrupt", while anti-MS articles are "intelligent".

Fanboy opinions are worth even less.

Making sweeping indictments of American journalists without a shred of evidence or proof is hardly patriotic. American journalists do not defend American products blindly. Read some car magazines, and notice the reviews of Honda, Toyota, etc. vs. American cars. Insulting your country just because your console of choice is behind the competetion is reprehensible.

The U.S. alone accounts for 40-45% of all worldwide sales. That's just ONE country. What percentage does France, or ANY European country account for. It takes dozens of countries COMBINED just to equal U.S. sales. But hey, if you want to get excited about France, go ahead. The U.S. is the real prize in the console war. If you disagree, I challenge you to name a single country that is even close to the U.S. in sales.

I challenge anyone to name a country that accounts for more worldwide sales than the U.S. The U.S. ALONE accounts for 40-45% of all worldwide sales. That's just ONE country! It takes another hundred or so countries COMBINED to equal that. Don't discount U.S. sales because "the US is not the world". Winning the US market is the biggest prize a console can hope for.

Take out Gran Turismo 5, God of War, Killzone 2, and MGS4 and what is PS3 left with? That arguement can go both ways.

The GT5 vs. Project Gotham Racing 4 comparison in 1.4 is good, except that GT5 does not exist yet, except in demo form. PGR4 has already been available for over a year now. By the time GT5 does get released, PGR4 will be over 2 years older. PGR5 may even be on the market by then. This is like comparing Gears of War 2 vs. Mobile Suit Gundam. Wait until GT5 is released, then compare it to the latest 360 racer, either Forza 3 of PGR5.

I could spin numbers and use the type of math used on this site to prove that Dreamcast really won the last generation.
