What's the difference between 1st party and 3rd party "new ip's".

Miles better than xbox live? Other than being free I just dont see it being miles better. Xbox live has been a unified service for the past 10 years.
There are discounts on games for Gold Users. They just dont advertise them as well as PS+ because that is the major draw to ps+. I do agree there needs to be more discounts though.
IMHO the blocked free apps for silver is an illegal fiasco. You shouldn't need gold to use netflix, kincet video chat, and some of the video services since you are already paying for those services some way.

Price, as I noted below. They need to get these game prices down as I think Steam has showed the way to sell games.
Selling 10million games at $20.00 a piece will get you a whole lot more money than selling 2million games at 60.00 a piece.
But investors wont have it. They will constantly take the prices up.
Congrats. So much momentum for both the 360 and ps3. Sometimes I wonder, other than a graphical improvement, is it necessary right now to release new consoles. Do people, the masses, really have enough money to buy new consoles. I'm sure its not on the top of their lists.
I wish Sony and Microsoft luck because its gonna be tough, as Nintendo learned very very quickly with the wii-u. But I think in Nintendo's case it was a "fool me once" type of deal.

Microsoft is profitable and have made a name for themselves in the gaming market. The xbox 360 thrashed the original xbox sales. Is that a win?The ps2 has sold a gazillion more units than the ps3 has in less time. Is that a win?
Looks decent enough. Not ever needing to spend money is a big plus also. If only I games on my consoles more. I find more peace and relaxation at my desk with my pc.

Pc gaming has taken off no problem without the ability to sell their digitally purchased games.
I just want a better RPG experience ala Mass Effect 1 but upgraded. I want my actual equips to mean something in the gaming world. If I go to a water planet (hypothetically) with a freakin water shooter on extreme difficulty I want to get my @$$ kicked.
I want exploration. I know people didn't like mining, but I want to explore different planets and meet different people. Knights of the Old Republic did this very well.
Imagine if the ps3 could go to a ps4 with the pop, pull, and replacement of an external custom gpu for 200.00 or less. That would be great.
But the ps3 is a bad choice because of the ram situation. But the ps4-ps5 would be very capable.
I want an upgradable console, atleast for two console cycles, with just the gpu being replaced.
Imagine an xbox/ps4 with a pool of 8gb ram and a great cpu. A custom gpu solution on a pcie bus that you just pop off the side and can replace for peanuts the next generation (5-6 years down the line). I would want that.
It would save the customer money and cut down on R&D every other console cycle. They will not need to create a new gpu every year, just ...

My console has a 2000000teraflop gpu capable of producing mass effect fields with kinect voice commands!!!!!! My console has an updated playstation eye which can manipulate my surroundings and make me feel like im with an actual stripper!!

So you bought a console because you say that your favorite devs are on that console but then say people bought xbox because it was cheap.
Maybe some people like Halo (bungie,343), or Forza (turn 10), or Gears (epic - not first party). But it doesn't matter if they aren't on your side of the argument.

Playstation is a known brand from "greedy" Sony. Xbox is a known brand from "greedy" Microsoft. Not going anywhere anytime soon. Greedy Sony would fire employees and restructure business before this happens. Same with greedy Microsoft.
