I dont see any negatives at this point. Of course we will not know the full intent of Sony (and Microsoft) until the consoles are released.
I know its a pipe dream, but I just want console games to support other formats, ala 16:10 and 21:9.
But I will be purchasing the ps4 and I wish it the best.
I love the playstation brand, but the fact of the matter is that if Nintendo did not chose the cartridge system for the N64 we would be talking a different game. Final Fantasy would have been on their system and probably exclusive, as the previous iterations were, and this game alone would have pushed the system mainstream. It was their poor business decisions that cost them, not Sony's brilliance. Grand theft Auto didn't get "mainstream" until the 3rd iteration, although...

Its getting ridiculous. Nvidia wanted to make money and would have probably made a stronger system, of course at a cost. AMD wanted to make money and decided to probably go with a more cost effective approach for both Sony and themselves.

The only argument that I hate (against both Sony and Microsoft) is the games argument. Sony fanboys say that Microsoft hasn't come out with anything major in the last 2 years............... well most of their games were made during the early days of the 360. Then the fanboys on Microsoft side remind them that the ps3 didn't have any major games for its for 1.5-2 years which is true.

Nintendo's choice to use cartridges, therefore allowing it to be possible to produce games on the playstation cheaper, allowed Sony to solidify the PS brand to where it is. The underpowered Gamecube, with proprietary discs did the same.
Because it's their choice. Nothing more, nothing less. If Sony did not fund their games, then they would look to another publisher.
So basicly, Sony lets you release it when you want to, no matter who you are going up against that week, and Microsoft has slots that games are released in but you have no say so when it's released.
He said nothing about dev kits, with the exception of the Vita as he didn't know it was going to be that easy. Good job Sony on that part.

Not saying this is one, but SOOOOOOOO many Microsoft hate articles since the ps4 specs "Officially" released. Why dont these blogs wait until something from Microsoft is "Officially" shown. Everything else is just speculation.
