Well to be fully honest everything you get from achievements are utterly useless and cheap. But its still fun to collect things. Some people like collecting titles or mounts or pets.
And I don't have a big problem with them changing it, I think they should have simply added a new title.
No, it doesn't take away the enjoyment one has gotten from earning that title but if someone follows earns the title without some sort of cheating they deserve to keep it. I just got World Explorer for my lvl 1 just because I thought it would be fun and a challenge. It took a ton of time and I ended up with over 1,500 deaths. While I enjoyed running around seeing the game from a different perspective nothing was as sweet as getting that stupid title.

LBP2, KZ3, Twisted Metal, Resistance 3, and The Last guardian are my day 1's. After that Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, Rage, Brink, Portal 2, Infamous 2, and Skyrim will have to fight for my money. Deadspace 2, R&C, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2, Batman, and Red Faction will be rentals. Best year this gen by miles!
As of now I would put LBP at number 1. With Uncharted 2 and then everything else. LBP was something that was not only amazing but fresh and unique and it created its own genre. There are a ton of great games and series this gen but after getting the CE of LBP2 and playing through the story mode I think my jaw was a little sore from smiling. I don't think LBP 1 or 2 are the best games this gen but as far as new IPs go this gen LBP is my favorite.

I don't know why they are worried? Some of the best games this gen have been sequels, Uncharted 2, Mass Effect 2, and just last month two great sequels came out in LBP2 and Deadspace 2.
For assassination if its your teams turn you do everything you can to protect whoever it says in the top right by the map. It will also show where he is and if its the other teams turn you got to kill the who ever is marked. When you plant the bombs you got to plant both and then protect them for 30 seconds, if one of the bombs gets stopped you have to do it again.
Because it has only been out a very short while. Who knows, by next year there could be some awesome games leading to motion controls like kinect being the used in every game in a few years. Or it could get nothing but shovelware and over hyped but under delivering games and could simply be forgotten. Its still has great potential but until its potentiality is fully realized its still just, well... potential.
