and since when do sales = quality?
I think that the author did a great job at outlining the "blockbuster" nature of our industry, and why so many games that fall into that category fail to be special.
...yes but the option should be there. Even if you like it, others (like me) don't, and I'd be more open to playing Spirit Tracks if the controls weren't restricted.
Nice piece, Jeff, though I'm still iffy about the latest Zelda. I see why you like it, though
I agree that Spec Ops is the best thing about MW2, but your saying that KZ2 doesn't deserve to be overlooked? Perhaps if Guerilla had focused on more than graphics...
Wow, and it beat Scribblenauts for most disappointing. I have yet to play BL, but wow!
At least Tingle is jolly
Tony Hawk Ride turned out to be such a disaster. I mean, I don't expect much from Activision, but I didn't expect that either
I haven't yet played Demon's Souls, but am still not sure what to make of it. Everything that I've heard has sounded punishing in a not fun way, despite everyone saying that its great. One day.
That list is unwritable...there isn't enough space on the internet to document them all
Nice work, but god...please no more PSPs.
Great boss fights seem like a thing of the past. They still stick too losely to the "watch for the pattern, hit the guy when he turns away, repeat" model, instead of adapting to the openness of many modern titles. Shame that the old excitement is so hard to replicated in our jaded minds
Just started Shattered Memories. Shocked about its quality, especially after the middling SH: Origins. The authors observations all ring true
unclever writing and repetitive gameplay. I liked HOTD Overkill, but it wasn't a great game, and its mind was in the gutter from start to finish. Therefore, it deserved its slot
Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Nothing redeeming about that at all.
Can't believe that they've bumbled that system so bad. Really hope that they can turn it around in '09
No love for Zeke from inFAMOUS? His d*ckness set the whole story into motion!
better than Game Party
Silent Hill and Saboteur sound rad
Noooo. The King must live on!!!
...what he said.
Yeah, Uncharted was an all-in-the-box experience like no other.
my god...that boss was the most terrifying moment of my childhood
