Depends on who's reviewing the game for GameSpot. If it would've been "Tom Mach8t" he probably would've given it a 8 since that's the only number he knows. I recently bought a Wii U but I'm not sold on this game, I'll try the demo and see it for myself, but I'm not a big fighting combo game style type of guy.
I'm just glad that it's out and the ones who enjoy it can play it, the ones that want to try out the Playstation plus version can and we can finally put this game behind us and stop hearing about it. Let the real crop of PS4 exclusive shine brightly now.

It's a very enjoyable game, but like you I wouldn't call it a 9.5 of higher (those were probably hard-core LOTR fans)
The only frustrating part I'm finding is that I'm doing all the side missions, to get more powerful for the main missions, but I find that being more powerful while doing the side missions would be more fun. I surprisingly got my copie today and the reviewers are right on the ball. Granted I've only played 2 hours, from what I've played and watched from previews, it's a awesome game. (just a little much at first remembering all the system, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it pretty soon)
I know in Canada they have the PS4 tlou bundle for 399$ doesn't sound like much to you Americans but the Ps4 is usually 450$ here and tlou sales for 55$. You're saving over a 100$. That's probably as good as it gets till boxing day in Canada.
I know, patch the ps3 version to be able to upload are maps and get version 1.7 working on PS4 and I'll be golden for a while.
I know...a typical high quality AAA game cost between 50 to 150 millions to make. That means Microsoft could use that money and make 25 AAA exclusive (100 millions each) and Mojang will keep making Xbox ports for free.
This is more a move to keep it away from Android, IOS and PlayStation. (even if they said they wouldn't, we all know minecraft 2 will be 100% exclusive)
It definitely will be. I'm willing to double dip on GTA 5 but not for 70$ (i live in canada) 35$ will be my sweet spot.

That's probably what Microsoft wants them to do. That way they will look like the victim and Sony will look like a bully. If Sony doesn't decided to sue (I don't think they will) than it opens up for more of these types of shaningans by Microsoft later on. It's a clever move by Microsoft even if it reaks of desperation... I wouldn't be surprised if Sony retaliates with COD later this year...

Boourns! I'm not feeling this year's Assassin's Creed except for the fact that it's in France and city is looking beautiful. I'll eventually pick it up when it drops to 30$. That's my sweet spot for how I'm feeling about it.

I was sooo hyped for this game, got it day one (my copies actually arrived a day early) played it for 4 days and I haven't went back since except for once to show my buddy and father in-law. I played probably 25% of the missions and unlocked all spawn points (to make traversal faster) and I didn't get board, I just can't find the motivation to finish...
