my question is why even compare the two, one will run on a high end PC the other will be on a PS3, it does not make sense to compare them

considering both install bases in the US this is a pretty good achievment
media creat does japan, no one company does the whole of europe, your best chance there is VG chartz....
im only speaking for my self, i used it once to play MGS3 for the first time
never used it since
i still have hope for software emulation in the future
i dont no why the article does not mention sony's and nintendo's bread and butter games, GT5 and SMG2, these 2 games alone have the best shot and could even sell more

the real question is WHY does a game NEED to be innovative?
if it is and does it well, great, i welcome it but many people like more of the same, MW2 is proof of this
@THE MAX SPEED 21, whats so innovative about MGS you ask? what game has a story that engages you on so many levels like the MGS franchise does? the only thing that comes close is god of war even so, it doesnt need to be innovative to be good
im gonna list some bullet points just for the simple minded
- the 360, especially in the US is known for going ape sh!t over FPS
- MW2 is the biggest FPS of this gen
- Microsoft ban around 1 million 360s just before/after release of MW2
- Ver, very tempting deals are all over the place in the US as well as the non stop ads, i have personally seen 4 360 ads in a 1 minute span and im in england
add all this together and no wonder ...
in your mind selling gears or halo numbers = selling really well
while thats true selling 1-2 million is also great, many devs would be happy to sell that much
if your just looking at NPD software sales then your argument fails and if not, PROVE that worldwide 360 software sales are that much better, im guessing europe and japan offset your numbers or you failed to even factor them in
there are alot of multiplats that sell on par or better on the PS3
how can you even put them in the same bracket?
when your 360 is banned you buy an arcade or just the white box off ebay
with the sony offer you have to buy a $1000 TV before you get a free PS3
i would hardly call that padding

god forbid we get fps after fps, variety is what i want
people need to remember that this is only north america, yes this is dissapointing to see but worldwide is where it counts
