Now I hope Hulu.com works :) :) :)
Woot!
Okay - first let me say that I am happy for any and all updates and additions they make to the PS3. I really am, please don't view this post as one of those "but where is X feature!!"
But they say they listen to the community, and this voice in the community wants the browser to have the udpated Flash player so that I can watch Hulu.com on my PS3. :)
It isn't a benefit to them, especially with their movie rent through XBL as well as Netflix. They want to push that, not the Blu-Ray delivery of movies.
It is very cool and impressive to whoever did it.
I wouldn't have the patience to create it, though. I don't even have the patience to use Forge in Halo 3.
Seriously - look, Sony and Microsoft are going down right now - so is everyone else...

I got the Daxter bundle (PSP-2000) and don't see a big enough change to want me to buy again. But, cool for those who don't have one yet.
I bought a x360 around launch, and it lasted about 8 months before it died. Since then, the replacement has worked just fine.
Also, my PS3 bricked on the last major firmware update, and that got fixed as well (same PS3 came back ... or at least, the same HDD came back)
So, for me, they are each equally as faulty. One was software related, one was hardware, but the net result for me was a week or so turnaround until it got repaired.
That's your opinion. I own all three systems, and can say that I play the X360 more than the other two combined. Whether it's due to game selection, or more of my friends own an X360, whatever. Point is, different strokes for different folks. You like the PS3 more, that's fine. But there's nothing wrong with those that think the X360 is currently the better machine.
Well, I don't know - single player in CoD4 was "ok", but it's worth the $60 due to the multiplayer. If, however, multiplayer sucked than it'd be ripoff at $60.
Seriously - in a few years we'll be paying close to $100/game. That's outrageous.
You have to download it, but you don't have to use it. You can keep using the default "old" layout if you'd like.
Since when is it unheard of to pay for a service (an intangible good)? I rent movies through Xbox/PSN - I pay for those movies.
While I know that MS could, if they wanted to, let Silver users watch Netflix as long as they are a Netflix user, they decided not to go that route. Seems to me they looked at the business model and took the approach they deemed as best for them and their partners.
Again - nothing new here. All companies do this and it's a fact of life.
I'll assume that you are someone who doesn't work a lot with Flash and Silverlight and therefore doesn't understand the differences between the two.
It's not really fair to draw a comparison between the graphics of Halo 3 and CoD4.
On one hand, you have something that's trying to be modern-day realistic in its battlegrounds.
The other is set in an obviously different time frame (future) and tries to act sci-fi.
Both games are beautiful in my opinion in how they do what they do.
And the same could be said about CoD4's lackluster campaign (very short). But that didn't stop either of these games f...
I hadn't touched Halo 3 for months until the second update just came out. Now I'm back in it and have remembered how much I enjoy this game. This expansion - if that's what it is - will surely be a purhcase for me and many many others.
Yeah this stinks. I didn't see this movie yet, and wanted to watch it in high-def first! (missed my chance in the movie theater)
Well if you believed the hype and you love the game ... then didn't the hype pay off and reinforce your feelings? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that thousands of us do, in fact, really enjoy the Halo games.
If it wasn't for Netflix, I wouldn't watch Blu-Rays at all, to be honest. I own 7 BR's - 5 of which I got for free for buying the PS3.
I love them, though, and I want to watch everything I can on BR, but as for BUYING them, I'll wait on prices to decline. Meanwhile, my entire queue is all high-def stuff :)
I don't think Home is a system seller. To be honest, I know I'm in the minority of THIS site, but I think there will be a great deal of PS3 users that go into Home once, have the novelty wear off, and then not use it again.
Seriously, you need to double check your PS3 Exclusives list there... Lots of those aren't exclusive at all.
Alright, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but considering that the current PS3 browser works with YouTube.com, that lends me to believe that yes it can play .flv files as that is all YouTube serves up. The difference now is that it can play .swf and all that other jazz that is made in the latest version of Flash.
