It's whatever you have fun playing. Too often everyone here forgets that fact.
Actually... I have been getting time since i left for college. I like the magazine, and asked my parents to give it to me as a "going away" present.
I'm now nearing 30 and still get the magazine, but I have liked it for some time :)
Wow ... $1 for a chair? No thanks man - I'll survive with just the free crap.
I don't know if you're right in your assumption, but I'm not totally disagreeing with you.
BR's problem is not price but products people want to buy. Not all of the best selling DVDs are out on BR yet. Soon as they are, expect BR's upward swing to just continue. People are willing to buy the BR version of a great movie, but are less likely to do so of a "regular" movie I think.
It still has a long ways off to overtake DVD, but as long as it keeps going in t...
Isn't it available on the PSN? If so, I think your 0 is a ways off.
And we all knew this was going to sell, right? It's encouraging that the percentages are high, yes, but BR is still a ways off from pushing DVD out of existence just yet.
@above - their gaming division was, but I thought on just PS3 units they were still at a loss.
Well, actually, the graphics on the DVD-based games do look gorgeous and so far the PS3 hasn't shown (in all cases) that Blu-Ray games = better looking games.
Plus that move has allowed MS to actually be making a profit now on each unit sold. That is something that Sony hasn't reached quite yet.
But back to the article - it will still have an optical drive. not everyone has internet (amazing, I know), others have internet caps or slow connections, and flash-based sto...
I own Batman Begins (on HD-DVD) and it is awesome. I can't wait to pick this on up on BR. And I am excited to see that they used VC-1 to encode it - I generally find that codec produces sharper pictures than AVC (and MPEG).
Exciting!
I was excited to see that on there, but then the price came up and I'm like WTF?
LittleBig Planet PlayStation 3 Game - $59.99
I remember trying to get a cheap x360 last black friday online - crashed the amazon servers for a few minutes at the exact time they were going to release it online.
And all of you bashers come on here saying that it's RROD this and RROD that. Read the article! The only anectdotal evidence I have is that none of my friends have had any issues. I think I'll go blog about that and submit it to N4G. Oh, but it would never get approved since it isn't trying to dramatize and cast the 360 in a negative light.
Yes, RROD happens. But I have yet to see anything SUBSTANTIAL that leads me to believe that the NXE update has bricked numerous consoles. I...
Yeah, another NXE=RROD article with no substance. Just look at who is approving this stuff - browse their comments and you'll quickly notice a very pro-Sony theme among them.
So I can fire the game up, go into horde (alone?), put it on casual/normal, and start at level 1. Finish up to level 20, come back a couple days later, and pick up at level 21? And just keep going?
How hard is it to beat by yourself?
It does seem to take a little too long to get into a game, but for some reason I have no issues getting into a Horde match. And I love the Horde gameplay - just so f'n fun.
Like last night, my entire team was down and I couldn't get to them because I was surrounded by 3 grinders (!). luckily for me, I had one of their powerful machineguns and managed to mow them down. It was exhilerating!!!
I am buying it as well. Plus, they used the CoD4 engine, right? So of course it will "feel" the same in some aspects.
Unfortunately, my xbox just RROD'd on me today, and I doubt it's back to me in time for this game. Dangit!
Maybe I've been playing CoD4 too long, but I wasn't as impressed with the multiplayer. It's fun, don't get me wrong, and I'll buy the game. But there was an intangible "something" that was missing for me - perhaps I just wasn't up for the chaotic 30 on 30.
The article is right, though, if you want to get lost for a minute or two and not worry about getting shot at, you can. Sort of interesting.
I'll reserve judgment until I've played more of the single pl...
I have to agree with you - GH3 itself is $99 ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site...
Throw in the two games (if you don't like them, trade them for something!) and this is a great bundle.
Stop the hatin'.
Honestly people, did Call of Duty 4 teach you all NOTHING? Games can still look beautiful and not even be full 720p. Why do we all sit here and argue about a small number of pixels?
Does the 360 version look like crap? Can you sit there and say to yourself "Oh man, this game plays great but I REALLY wish they had managed to throw in a few extra pixels here and there..."
No. You don't. Nobody does. Get whatever console choice you want/own and be happy with ...
First, your screen name is somewhat ironic.
Secondly - you are incorrect in assuming that simply because there was a price cut, that the x360 isn't turning a profit for MS. What is perhaps more likely is the fact they are able to offer up the price cut because of the profit they are making on each unit. They have retooled the hardware multiple times and have surely gained efficiencies of scale with production.
Sony's gaming division makes a profit (I believe) as a w...
