I can see Little Big Planet continuing be a seller for those with children who are considering a Playstation.
I let my friends littlest daughter play Little Big Planet, and she asked to have it when they get a PS3, but the game she really, really wanted was PAIN. Go figure ( I hate that game).
I know 2 people who have XBoxes, who are not actively online - Silver accounts included. The reason is the cost of the network adaptor; at $100 it is grossly overpriced. These two have wireless connections in their home. The rest of my360 owning friends have ethernet, but none currently have Gold accounts that I know of.
Most everyone I know has multiple user accounts on either console. Usually, it is their kids or occasional guests.
I hope others follow your lead...! Where will you go? Give other journalistic "purists" some insight.
BUBBLES FOR THE BOTH OF YOU!!!
What I hate most about this site is the double standard on what is journalism and blatant fanboyism.
That is what killing N4G.
We are all informed by opinions as much as facts, people. How dense can you be not to understand that - such is the realm for reviews, blogs and the like. Very, very few articles are purely the facts, and they shouldn't be.
Don't care for someone's opinion or a site...don't read it.
If you really care about the quality of N4G, then go to another site.
If you want to prioritize your opinion over someone else's, get a lobotomy.
Ooops! You already have one?
Stop being a jerk.
I'm taking away bubbles on anyone who rags about this being a HHG article. That ish is OLD!!
Seriously, are some you guys like a bunch of racists in backwoods Montana or something? j/k You all can't live in Montana. : )
Serious for real...it was very well written and thought out, enough to convince a friend who only ever plays COD and Rock Band to try out. Whether KZ2 > COD or not...a lot of players who play COD exclusively have another option. COD has some th...
Yeah, although I love the game, San Andreas was 'stereotype' city for black people. I often wondered it they purposely waited for the third installment to portray black gang life, even in a comical way.
The difference is that all the negativity of African-American culture has become entertainment for our society as a whole. It is pathetic, but almost all of us are complicit to some degree or another. So there is less outcry.
Still I don't even consider GTA:SA ...
On both sides that is.
Criticism of the game about its locale wasn't originally meant to be an accusation of racism, just insensitivity given the political and historical nature of the region.
When N'Gai Croal brought this up, I never once hear him accuse Capcom of being racist. He just said it was obvious no one black was involve in its production. Maybe if it was, it would have been a lot more sensitive.
Being insensitive doesn't mean your ra...
I agree 100% with meatnormous Given a choice of consoles, most gamers would get BOTH!!! Something wonderful is on both systems for you if you are a true gamer and not a flamer. As to what you buy first is personal preference.
The only reason this is coming up is because Microsoft spent all its gammunition shooting up our wallets on the fantastic exclusives we had early in the holiday season, effectively ghettoizing LBP and Resistance and multiplatform titles like Mirror's Edge...
Everyone is reacting to what they've heard from Sony, Microsoft and other developers on the technical capabiliites. From all standpoints it seems the PS3 has the advantage.
Now, I too believe that the 360 can be milked for more, despite being called "a dumb PC". Yet I'm sure that it is closer to its limit graphically than the PS3. What I think will be more telling of any technical superiority PS3 may have is the amount of information that a Blu-Ray can hold over D...
...before I nestle in with KZ2 for my Saturday off. I played an hour into the campaign and I'm so far as easily impressed with KZ2 as I was Gear 2, which had an awesome beginning with the Brumaks.
Graphically it is definitely impressive, but not the enormous leap from the 360 the internet has made it to be. Still it is the best looking game I have have seen on a console. I like being able to eavesdrop on conversations held by UPCs, and the character models are very detailed. I...
Dude, this is the internet. Going by guys in this post, you'd think the whole world is full of jackbutts who want to find something petty to rant against and be crude and ignorant in the process. "Fanboys" aren't really a real phenomenon, it is this same phenomenon.
I am use to seeing immature comments when visiting gaming sites, and it is because we are dealing with mainly 18-24 year olds. Shyeah! Ten years ago, I would call it an accomplishment trying to hurt som...
All these sites are doing it...! I don't see any difference whatsoever between HHG and any other site, except stylewise. And it is not necessarily always in the other sites favor.
Every week there is only a dozen articles, if I'm lucky, that tell me anything newsworthy. HHG has been newsworthy on select occasions, but ALL sites have been BS once in a while.
And sorry guys, this time it isn't BS news. The first video is a first for me, and yes Lost Djinn (slig...
It is not like an RROD...? Some things always present challenges, and an onrush of 1 million players (based on pre-orders) will definitely be a challenge.
But ya never know; it might go off without a hitch.
You know. You may be dead-on right about that!!
BUBBLES
How does no release date confirm a 2010 release date?
How does no mention of exclusivity confirm it is coming to PS3?
The video implies NOTHING?
PS3 owners, keep holding your breath. I want this game on the PS3 as much as anyone, but come on...! This ain't even jerking the chain, people.
Exclusive games going multiplatform is good for their industry IMO - more choices for the consumer regardless of their console. Plus, it means more money for the developers so they can make more great games.
I think of it as a natural progression anymore. As the game improves and more work can be done to port the experience to other consoles, why not?
But multi-platform games aren't really where one particular console shines - one console will always be favored a...
Not even a price cut would change the game now I believe. PS3 will build off the success it had in 2008, but it won't affect the 360 too much. If MS doesn't deliver with the games (which it will starting with Halo Wars), then 360 may falter. But the sales lead will still be there.
If you are going to mention David Jaffe, mention Calling All Cars.
I don't know if Wipeout would be consider vehicular combat. If so, it is arguably the best. I like Pursuit Force over Twisted Metal, but it is not the same type of game. I can jump out my car into another one while firing my guns like in the movies.
...by 2010, I'm not going to want DLC for a game that is two years old, especially if the DLC has already been out for over a year. Forget that!
Let 360 owners have the DLC to themselves.
I rather not have a game because it is exclusive to a console I do not have than to be insulted by company who thinks I can wait longer for a game to come out on my console.
