I won't pay full price for those games. I'll wait till they are greatest hits or buy a used game at the Disc Exchange. If the game is gimped, even if it is only DLC, I won't pay more than $30 for it. Especially when there are first party games of much better value. Timed excluses within a year of each other, I don't mind as much.

I know first hand of people on low incomes with children that buy a lot of PS2s and PS2 games. It is cheaper than current consoles, with a huge library of cheap games and occasional new ones.
If you have a 10 year old who busts up his toys every Christmas, and they want a console. PS2 is a perct choice.
With a huge library, PS2 is great for BC-denied PS3 owners who want to have a smaller, polished PS2 next to their PS3.

I was under the impression that actual hardware was removed from the PS3 that allows for PS2 BC? This isn't backward compatibility.
I am hoping the GOW I and II are being rereleases as PS3 games, with improved graphics, easter eggs, etc. Otherwise I'd just play a game on a PS2.
