I think interest in a Switch successor would be minimal as the console is only two years old...
Stadia has the benefit of having a lower barrier of entry, but I’m glad next gen console interest isn’t wading in the UK.
@Surgical
That’s not a reason that’s a decision.
@surgicalmenace
Since Persona 5 was released on the PS3 then the Switch isn’t limited in its capacity to handle that game.
Also, it’s the de facto console in Japan right now, and there seems to be a lot of people who want it ported to the Switch. So sales look like they’d be great.
There really isn’t a reason not to.
I have a PS4, I own Persona 5. Still want it for the Switch.
They aren’t even the same genre. Pointless comparison...
Yoshi has had styles like this before Media Molecule was even a studio, let alone LittleBigPlanet
Metroid Prime would be cool, and so would Mario Kart. I’m thinking Punch Out would be a cool VR game, as would Fatal Frame.
@badz
I never said it won the majority. I said many sights voted Overwatch over Uncharted. Typical fanboy response, you failed to read.
@anthonydavis
What does it being able to be played on the same system have to do with anything?
It’s simple, Nintendo caters to everybody. Their games are easy to pick up, but often have hidden challenges that push and challenge core gamers in the right way.
@AnthonyDavis
A lot of websites voted Overwatch as GotY instead of Uncharted 4, even though Uncharted has a higher meta score, so that proves bupkis.
Game of the Year awards are different from critiquing a game. Look at Red Dead Redemption 2...it was the highest game critically, but when it came down to game of the year God of War is what drove it.
PS+ hasn’t always had six different games each month since it’s inception.
The math clearly shows the Switch is the fastest selling console so far this gen. That might change in the future, but it doesn’t change the present.
@PaintedGamer
Boy, do you sound like a fanboy.
Also, the first and second years of a systems life are rarely their best selling years. So, yeah, perspective 🙄
@mandf
Because when you’re talking about “fastest selling” you are talking about launch aligned for the same timeframe.
For example, Switch sold more in its first 24 months than PS4 did in its 24 months.
We really won’t know who sells the most overall until both stop being produced, which is why that’s the metric most people consider when comparing the two.
Perspective. Switch is selling faster than any other console this generation, and Nintendo is the best selling publisher. Which, it seems, those are the items the author is emphasizing.
In the case of Pokken Tournament, fighting games routinely look better than many other games because there isn't nearly as much to render. They often have only 10 or so stages to model, baked lighting, baked effects, etc. There was no way the mainline game would have looked better than Pokken with the more things they have to actually model.
As for your Battle Revolution comparison, here is a better comparison:
Here is one for the character models
...
RE Engine can run on Switch. Doesn’t mean the game can, but the engine can.

Idk, PS4 had a better year (sales wise) in 2017 than any other year, and 2018 still showed higher sales than 2013-2016.
Not to mention Switch has had rumors of a new version for the six months or so.
I’d say that the decrease in PS4 and Xbox is likely due to market saturation. Which is completely normal, and I’m honestly surprised it took PS4 this long to hit it. Then again, PS3 didn’t hit it until 2010/2011. Sony is known for their console life longevity...
How is this better on PS4 and Xbox 1?
I understand modern games that have to be scaled down. You can definitely make a case for those. But this? Nah, the option for both on and off TV play makes it better than the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
