I haven't played any of those five games, but they seem to be reasonable choices.
I just think that too many people are trying to do everything with gaming, owning as many games and systems as possible. Unless you work for the industry, it's not a realistic approach, and yes, even deadly.
Moderation in all things.

A bit long, but a great article! One should always try to strike a balance between gaming and non-gaming, and what's acceptable for kids to play.

I disagree with your pick on Mortal Kombat. I think it's one of the better video game movies out there. Perhaps you meant Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Granted, I haven't seen the movie, but after watching the Nostalgia Critic's review of it, I don't think I need to.
I'm starting to agree that buying a next-gen console might not be worth it, but for somewhat different reasons. I think I might have lost interest.
I don't own a PS3 so I can't play The Last of Us. ;)
