Proof that lowest price doesn't necessarily mean guaranteed win. Not a bad month for Sony at all. Steady, and consider that Sony had just taken a price cut with the PS3 then too. Here, it holds on tight and barely moves. Shows that the potential for PS3 explosion IS there. Just need to wait I suppose.
As for 360, financials for 08 fiscal should be interesting Microsoft. Rock bottom pricing = little market expansion.

at $399, it sells 726k. Very impressive for PS3. That said, still good numbers for 360, but I did actually expect more. Plus, I thought the Wii would sell more. Interesting.

Let it sell as it is (they seem to believe it's stable), and take advantage of advancing Cell and Blu-ray technology and production techniques. Then, upon successful completion of assembling a PS3 by these cost-reduced means, drop the price.

Not surprising. But don't go thinking it's just PS3. Blu-Ray has outlasted the recession (so we're told) but what about Sony's TVs and audio products? Columbia/Tristar wasn't exactly bringing in the big cash this year as a distributor for Sony, so this looks to be a whole company delimma. And yes, the exchange rate killed them.
Generally, bad news. No good way to spin this for anyone. This economic crisis keeps getting worse and worse and Sony won't be the only ones crying. Hop...
