Sakura Samurai, the three wii rpgs and Dillons rolling western are examples of New Ips from Nintendo that made it to the west.
Who cares as long as all of his various games are good and independent gameplay experiences from the main line franchise?
While it is slightly (OK, to me really annoying here lately) bothersome to see Mario all over the place, Mario kart, tennis and Paper are different enough to be awesome and worthwhile, regardless of Mario's involvement.
The real issue is the constant main Mario games. At least it may be once the Wiiu one is confirmed...(which would make 3 in under a yea...
They have made plenty of new characters and IPs within just the past few months.
Dillon, for instance.
What gets me about another mario is that Animal crossing, Luigis mansion and Paper mario (also, Fire Emblem for the west)were all announced well before NSMB2 and some before Tennis Open, and we still know nothing about when they are coming.
-_-;
Yes. But that's true of anything and everything.
The question is, have we reached that point with Mario yet?(within a set period, I mean.)
I personally think if we haven't, we are getting there... ^_^;
I do believe that Mario retains its "freshness" and appeal for a long time. If the series is handled correctly, it could stay fresh and fun forever.
Mega Man Legends 3!!!
I don't expect anything like MonHun, Devil may cry or Resident evil as the hint says "Something unexpected", and we are already expecting entries in these games.
Dino Crisis or darkstalkers seem "unexpected", as does a previously cancelled game.(see above. ^_^;)
I have a few thoughts.
Nice commenting on a released game you don't own.
If/when MH comes over, it is VERY possible they will add online. Capcom has hadded online to non online japanese games when brought over before.
Rhythm Thief is decent at best (I also played the demo.): but there are even better looking games that should have been placed ahead of it like Thethyrhythm.
Just some points I wanted to bring up. And yes, this article is most likely ...
Sakura Samurai, Dillon's rolling western, the 3 Wii rpgs, Golden sun, Kid Icarus.
... but whatever -_-;
oops... SC5, not 6. ^_^;
I wasn't trying to accuse you or put words in your mouth. I just had an opinion, and thought I could play off your comment to post it. ^.^;
By "you" I meant anyone. My delivery was off on that line I suppose. My bad. >.<;
This is just retailer speculation. Like the soul calibur 6 3ds rumor a few months back.
I don't really think this is worth speculating over.
But those numbers would never have been so high if not for Nintendo in the first place.
Meaning we would have either had a steady decline to this point instead of a great rise and fall, A stagnant non changing market with no growth or worthwhile revenue, or a great crash.
If you choose to "blame" Nintendo for such a dip in sales, you are automatically praising them for saving the market and cursing their competitors for falling short.
Awesome. ^_^
And 3g localization!! ^o^
Is this "source" referring to the april 14 Nintendo Direct for Korea? (many think this may be a standalone presentation for Korea, as the 3ds launches there on the 28.) Or is it something we don't know about yet?
This certainly would be great, but unnamed sources tend to say a lot of things...^_^;
@darth
I think I heard somewere that the increase was in part influenced by kinect star wars, and the 360/kinect starwars bundle pack.
It won't outsell the wii though. That is most likely what most have "disagreed" with. (I didn't agree or disagree.)
Or maybe it was the :( ?
^_^;
... Why is N4g's comment box telling me "Comment is required"?
It's kind of creeping me out... O.o
OT, Good sales for the 3ds. Vita... I can't quite remember, but before the price cut announcement I'm pretty sure that the 3ds never fell into the 4 digit range.
o.o;
How is it a waste to put a big game on the best selling console of the past several months?
The install base may be comparatively smaller than other consoles, but it will only continue to grow.
The 3ds has plenty releasing in june-july, and the wii has the last story.
Monster Hunter 3g hasn't made it to the US(yet...), but I would consider dynamic shadows with detailed textures at a solid 40-60FPS(I can't tell, but damn it is definetly higher than 30FPS and tri on the wii.) In 3d "Grounbreaking" in the graphics regard.
