Shenmue was in 1999, pretty sure the gta series started before that, and all gta games had open worlds, it just turned true 3D with gta 3.
Still, even with 3D gta games the open world there is very different from that which you see in Shenmue, it's a completely different concept.
The only thing I can think of right now that GTA seamed to have taken from Shenmue is the ability to go inside a building and play some random mini games... But hey, you could do that since...
I would love to see that car in dashboard view, you don't see a car with one seat and a steering wheel placed in the middle of the dashboard every day.
@PirateThom: Nice try, but that's not a legal road car. >__>
Then they need to rethink the whole series again. Or at least return it to what it was.
Haha, someone is mistaking Polophony Digital with Capcom.
First of all, I said I might buy it when it's cheaper but apparently you don't know what that means because you made it look like I'm someone who have no interest in buying HR.
I am what's wrong with the industry?
I just bought GoW3, Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6, Pro Evo 2010 and Killzone 2 for PS3 and Mass Effect 2 for PC in less than two months. Pretty sure I could buy another PS3 with the money I spent on those games. I can't afford to buy every game in existence,...
For a short interactive movie with little to no replay value, 1 million is too much. I loved Fahrenheit but couldn't get my self to buy HR even though I know it's awesome... just no enough value. Might do so when it's much cheaper.
HS might be "almost" as good as UC2 in cut-scenes animations, but there's just no comparison between the two games in in-game animation.
Paying to play online is poor experience...
You know what's even more hypocrite?
It's illegal to pay a girl to have sex with, yet it's completely legal to pay a girl to have sex with you in front of a camera.
Pretty much the only difference between prostitution and pornography is the involvement of a camera.
You can get those games on any Sony, Toshiba, IBM, HP, etc... Computers. It's not MS exclusive.
Have you guys seen Red Steel 2?
So by saying "Nintendo has never really 'lost' in a battle." you were trying to say that "Nintendo as a company has ALWAYS profited in this business"...
And I couldn't see through that even though it was so obvious. Poor me.
:(
Pretty sure they lost the battle for having the most popular console for about 5 years, and then they even lost their second place for another 4 or so years... Before releasing the Wii. :p
All versions will look as bad "confirmed".
Or maybe someone disagree because he just disagree.
I didn't hit the disagree button yet, but I haven't seen anything in that video that would warrant the word "great".
Cities are empty, game-play looks shallow, though customization looks nice, it's not enough to make the game "great".
As for fanboys with simple brains, who think people can't use the disagree button unless they are fanboys... grow up.
When SE says don't expect it before 2012, it means it's coming out on 2014 at earliest.
it all depends on how blind you are
I don't know about you guys, but, for most RPG fans, the PSP and the DS have offered a much better JRPG lineup than PS3/360/Wii this generation.
"The Best is Yet to Come" was a great song
@yoshiroaka
Shemnue was a master piece, I dare not argue against that.
I just didn't thought the GTA comparison was valid.
@jetlian
What?!! GTA(pre gta3) is an open world game with a top down view, so was NES/SNES Zeldas. No one said FFVII was an open world game, It was only mentioned to point out the mini games.
