I have to say that when GTAO works ,its a excellent game. There nothing as much fun as rolling with a 8 person party/crew and raising a whole bunch of kaos!
The bummer of the game is this issue of loosing your online persona. This should have been beta tested and fixed before this game was released! It has been a HUGE turn off for those that have had this happen...in some cases more that once!

All of the characters you mentioned where in the GTA 4 DLC. Lets see what rockstar has in store for us in GTA 5. They have said that the support of DLC will be the best of any GTA game to date!
IMHO,ALL of the characters in GTA5 are interesting in there own ways,but Trevor seems to stand out the most!
What would really be nice ( and this would work for conquest too ) would be if the capture points were not always in the same place.
You make a strong point,but this is like comparing apples to oranges when comparing the game play of a BF game vs a CoD game. True, CoD maybe a more casual FPS friendly type of game,but it is also more run and gun and less of a thinking persons teamwork type game compared to a BF game.

If GTA5 online has interested you,then you should get a copy of the game. The single player alone is worth it! Plus it will be the ONLY way that you will be able to play GTA5 online as it will NOT be a stand alone game.
To save some $$$,you may want to wait till the game goes on sale which it should do as the holidays get closer. By then most of the known bugs should be patched.
