See thats the exact problem with those kinds of games, people shouldnt have to pay 60 beans at launch then wait for the "first 3 dlcs" to finally get something for their money.

Its just fear talking really, a couple execs come out and say singleplayer games arent as relevent/profitable and these same companys are seemingly focusing heavily on mp games and boom recipe for "single player games are dead".
Who could possibly disagree with this statement.
Devs and publishers want maximum profit with minimal effort these days. Creating a simple multiplayer gameplay loop and stuffing it full of microtramsactions is the easiest way to do it.
Games like god of war, persona 5, bayonetta 2, zelda botw, the last of us etc etc all take effort, you need to make the game engaging, good writing/story/lore, decent amount of content so on and so forth.

As far as sea of theives goes, the reason i brought it up was for 2 reasons, niether having to do with being on xbox.
Reason number 1 it was a recent example and very exact at that
Reason number 2 is that it was blatant bs, it was incredibly shallow and lacked any meaning full content the way it was pitched. Yet people defended it to death despite the pure shallow crap it launched as.
