From what I have been able to figure out what they are doing makes perfect sense.
Namco is making a game that is using the Tekken Fighting Engine with street Fighter Characters in it
While Capcom is making a game with the SFIV fighting engine with Tekken characters in it.
The 2 games will be VERY different based solo on game play because as fighting fans know Tekken and Street Fighter are VERY different fighting games.
Oh man I REALLY hope Alpha 3 gets online at some point. Would be so awesome.
Don't know how you can say that when Gears is 3rd person and the VAST majority of shooters are 1st person which would mean they are not following Gears at all.
@darksied
Honestly gears feels as if it was designed fist and foremost as a multiplayer game(which is pretty much how everything epic does works) and everything beyond that is just tacked on.
Gears 2 seems like they tried to change that and they tried to have a good story. Key word being tried. I still don't understand why people think the whole Dom and his wife thing was sad. You have no attachment to Dom(my experiences with Dom is him getting shot and ...
@Blaine
I HATE when people bring up story and characters are weaknesses in JRPGs. You want them to westernize that? Really? So you want faceless generic Medieval Knight #56375 Or Bald Space Marine #76857646. Yeah go ahead and westernize those characters that's a GREAT idea.
Here is a hint. The characters in JRPG's are already globalized. They appeal to more countries in the world the stuff from western RPG's which is why JRPG's have had highe...
Honestly after gears 2 I really am not getting hyped up for this.
The new novel characters appearance will probably go something like.
"Character appears from novel does something bad ass fan boys go nuts and 1 hour later she gets killed and moving on"
I have just such a hard time getting excited because Gears 2 was such a let down. From what I have seen of Gears 3 it looks like more of the same with different colors which isn't...
ok.....
*goes and kills self*
The only thing I don't understand is why they would approve this if it was only a short one off series. Avatar was VERY profitable for them. The DVD's(assuming they get the money from those sales) brought in a crap load of money. The series finale was the highest rated thing on TV the day it aired. One would think they would make a new series that could conceivably run forever to keep making money off the series. I guess only time will tell.
@White-Sharingan
...
Ah true true. I overlooked that little detail.
That then makes me wonder what happened to Aang. As I mentioned Bumi was I think around 112 years old so Aang should have been able to live that long and if he didn't logic would dictate that he was killed somehow.
There are definitely gonna be some things people will want to have answered.
My biggest question is what the overall purpose of the series will be. While Korra needing to find Aang...
One can hope that Shamalamadingdong never gets to make a sequel however he seems to already be planning it and the movie did make a decent bit of money. It really depends on if Nickeloden listens to how bad the reaction for the movie was.
Personally I don't think they should have ever made a live action. They should have simply released Sozin's Comet in theaters. It was damn close to cinematic quality animation and had a incredible soundtrack and conclusion to a awes...
The Avatar changes nation each time they are reborn. Avatar Roku was Fire Nation, Aang Was a Air Nomad and now Korra is a Water Bender so the Next Avatar would be a Earth Bender. Then the pattern would reset and repeat.
Personally after the horrible movie I am really excited for this. The concept sounds great and it has the promise to be just as good as the original Avatar.
Well it's absolutely impossible to pick just one. I will say that out of characters that are more real in their design my number 1 is easily Elena from Uncharted 2.
outside of that however pretty much impossible to choose.
Yeah I agree I don't like the whole Swords and sorcery medieval kinda theme. It's just tired and boring. Primarily because of sources outside gaming. You see TV shows and movies and comics and cartoons and whatnot all that have a similar theme and because of that it kinda gets to the point where you just wanna see something new.
Other stuff like Fallout or various JRPG(which either put a cool spin on the Medieval stuff or are just sci fi) seem a bit more interesting....
Personally and this is just a personal preference I think the best Zelda is A Link to the Past.
Let me explain.
If you go back now and play the N64 Zelda games they don't hold up to well both in visuals and in some of the clunky controls of the time. Despite being really good games they kinda need a remake.
But if you plug in your SNES and go play A Link to the Past it's still incredible. For as old as it is it looks incredible and t...
Yeah it's Disgaea 4. While the president of NISA and Nippon Ichi have talked about it and said it's coming this year to Japan none of those talks were official announcements. We still don't have story details or characters or anything.
They will show off the game proper at TGS and I can't wait. The jump from Disgaea 2-3 was HUGE and I can only hope the same can be said for Disgaea 4.
Why do people like it?
Because it's a good series. The combat is awesome and it gets better and deeper as you level up. The series has awesome characters that you will like and get attached to. The series also has incredible story lines that are on par with Hollywood movies(easily) along with massive worlds that have nearly limitless things to do.
The games are not horrible. They are incredible and judge a MASSIVE open world RPG brawler based on a tiny li...
The only annoying FF character in my opinion is Vaan. He is a totally pointless character. He has pretty much no reason to exists in the Final Fantasy XII story line. The main character of that game SHOULD have be Ashe. As the game pretty much revolves around her.
It's kinda stupid how people considering being sad or depressed as being a annoying character(Squall and Tidus had DAMN good reasons to be a bit emo)
@Abriael
Japan's PC market is primarily based off of Visual Novels and not full blown games like it is in the US. Because of that the PC's people in Japan tend to have are not as powerful as one might expect. This was the reason the PS2 version was used more then any other platform over the life span of Final Fantasy XI(Remember XI came out around 2001 2002). As I said that changed as the game got older and was easier to run and as people had to upgrade their computer...
I would like to see Karen added in. It always makes me laugh when the things in the story modes for Sakura does the whole FACE YOU RIVAL thing and then it's Ryu. Sakura's Rival has always been Karen and Ryu is the guy she wants to learn from.
Personally I liked the new Cole. The original is such a generic looking character and his look didn't fit how cool a character he was. He looked like generic bald space marine but in a city.
The new Cole looked alot cooler and why people though NO NOES HE IS TO DIFFERENT is beyond me. What people can't grow hair in gaming? That's bad somehow? Really?
His new look fit the new location meaning it was a new interesting look in a new interesting place...
