The PS3 did not always have dedicated servers, on a number of first party titles it did. The vast majority of third party games used a peer to peer system almost the exact same as XBL.
Triforce79 has clearly drank the koolaid, ALL of the Koolaid.
Enjoying Nintendo consoles and games is perfectly fine, but man you sound like an illiterate PR person for Nintendo.
That's a tad hyperbolic.
All they have to do is fix the stutter and the games perfectly fine. Most Wanted was 30FPS at the 360's launch, it hardly broke the game.
Magic.
Haven't you heard? The next gen hardware is magical and we'll see leaps in visual fidelity akin to what we saw with the PS3 AND an increase in framerates and resolution.
Video Games and Sports are gender neutral, your examples don't work.
My ex has a Windows phone, it's even one of those poor phones stuck on WP7.8 and she doesn't mind it.
Coolbeans, ilu.
I know the topic is tired, but I kinda feel like you've done the best job of demonstrating the selective evidence and discussion that circles Zelda and Peach.
Loved this blog, loved it, loved it, loved it.
It was really funny seeing people cheer for this during the E3 unveiling. I don't hate the idea, both PSN and XBL are closed services they rely on themselves entirely for the online component of games (Generally) whereas Steam for the most part is relying on community driven dedicated servers (Those cost money, but it's out of the communities pocket) and only runs the MP on a handful of their own games.
What needs to stop though is when people are so adamant that the ...
Good blog Dragonknight, though to be honest I went from having a lot of respect for Sessler to zero a long time ago. The God of War stupidity was just mind numbing.
" As a game journalist, you ARE NOT in the industry, you REPORT ON the industry." Also that is something Jeff Gerstmann says a lot and I can't agree more. Journalists who cover any industry are spectators, they are not an active part of it.
@ All of you
You aren't storing anything beyond profiles and save games on the cloud, goodness gracious.
@ Some of you
Gaikai and OnLive stream you the images of the game being run on other hardware. The control inputs are sent from the PS4 to the data center and the video being streamed to you reflects that. It's never the same as playing the game locally and the latency kills it. But what I'm trying to say is the size of the gam...
@Blackout #1.1.9
Please be joking, please be joking, please be joking, PLEASE BE JOKING!
Windows 8 has some rough edges, but it's definitely not a terrible OS or some step down from Win7. Then again, I didn't have a huge issue with Vista either. :p
Of course, I know exactly how they were forced to replace Windows 7 with a gun to their head. Ballmers gangster like that.
Also if you read the article you would see that some Intel Core and Older Pentium products are also on the list. This is clearly about the instruction sets, and not the brand specifically.
People don't play CoD simply because of the 60fps, there are lots of other factors involved.
You are very deeply rooted in that bandwagon I see.
Yeah I demand perfection from console launch titles too, when every PS3/Xbox 360 launch title looked far worse than Half Life 2 and Battlefield 2 I had a childish fit as well. /s
Nah, that's just what budget current gen games look like.
NO! I still hate all of you.
But in all honesty, I still think about our argument that led you to ignoring me. I didn't believe that a Dark Souls MMO was possible, the essence of that game is so locked up in tight reflexes and the animation priority, I still think the latency would kill it. Your example was Dynasty Warriors Online, which I didn't agree with but what got to me the most, was when you told me I need to play more games. I don't have enough time in the...
In comparison to most things released on the consoles the past few years The Last of Us is clearly one of the better looking games. Does it have some visual issues? Sure! Is it fair to compare it to Metro 2033 Last Light running on brand new hardware? Heck no.
Seriously dude, grow up.
