totally agree, FF13 is a prime example of what hes talking about. its a really pretty game but the gameplay is quite shallow and the story is wasn't on par. I would say Lost Odyssey was probably the only JRPG I liked this gen and it looks nothing like FF13 but the story was better and the gameplay was better.

I'm amazed at how fast it collapsed....it looks like it collapsed after just 2 games, FF13 and FF14.
I didn't feel FF12 was that weak. It was different but it contained all the key elements that made it a FF.
Although I kinda forgot most of it but I do remember finishing the game and thinking it was pretty good, liked the direction the gameplay was going.

I wouldn't trust square remaking FF7, if they wanted to remake it they better bring back the original staff and I wonder how they would bring sakaguchi back to the fold.
I'm not a big fan of remakes to begin with, I liked FF7 because of the memory I had when I was first playing but who's to say I'd get that feeling again from a remake?
that list is pathetic....gamers don't like kinect, we were making fun of skittles during the e3 conference. we have a sports game with the move. look the only game we care about is gears and thats it. don't try to stretch the list with crappy game to make it look like xbox has some decent exclusives..
so am I suppose to like the game because of how many people put the effort into making? if thats the case then everyone should love all games because we should all respect the amount it takes to make them.
as for muting a game, I grew up playing final fantasy games that didnt have voice acting like...say FF4 5 6 7 8 9 and they were still great. so voice acting isn't needed for me. I muted persona 3 and persona 4 and I loved them both. I listen to voice acting if it can be...
I think its the worst in the franchise, i thought the paradigm shift was a over glorified tactic switch maybe because I played persona and it had that already but in persona they allowed you to change each individual character during battle. I never liked voice acting so all I did was played the game on mute, it was so linear I call a slow pace action game.
I won't be giving FF13-2 a chance.
