Well much of it is the unrealistic amount of hype that the media (keyword here is the media, not Sony) has built up for it. They have convinced themselves that this is the saviour of the PS3 (and no, the PS3 does not need a saving grace) and have reinforced in their minds over and over again with their complete disregard for journalistic integrity.
Another thing is Killzone 1. Some people were disappointed with the first installment, so the media is expecting Killzone 2 to make...
"That didn't satisfy consumers who saw a jihadist conspiracy to indoctrinate their children in the Chinese-made toys. Self-described 'anti-jihadist' parents claimed an audio file Mattel posted on its corporate site was doctored. In fact, one group calling itself Moms Ask Mattel for Accountability, allegedly filed a complaint with the FTC in December."
This is why I have a negative view on religion, especially Christianity and its subsidiaries.
Thanks for using The Sun as the source. Made me have to look around for other sources to make sure this was legit.
:)
Well anyways, I guess its nice to have it that thin, but it looks extremely fragile. I wouldn't trust myself with one.
If you're implying that they degraded it simply because it was Sony produced, I hope you realize that this is the Official Playstation Magazine. If anything, they are biased towards games that are published by Sony.
EDIT: On second thought, I can't tell if you are implying that they degraded it or are casually stating that you expected a high score such as this. I agree with the post above mine... elaborate please.
What? Excuse me, but I have plenty of great shooters on my PS2 and original Xbox. I mean, the top selling game on the Xbox was a shooter.
What has changed from then to now so that shooters have gone from being unsuitable on consoles to their lifeblood? Nothing has changed, and shooters have been and will be successful on all consoles, if only because of the nature of the genre.
Well, they were almost right. It will be killer, but I hate the term "Halo Killer." It is derogotory to the game being labelled as one because, quite simply, it doesn't take much to surpass Halo. Well maybe not in terms of sales, but gameplay is what matters to me (and most other gamers).
Plus, a game shouldn't have to be an "Anything Killer." All I expect from a game is that it does well as an independent entity, not against baseless comparisons from a game...
It most likely is fake. Someone just took screens from GTA 4, shopped them onto a TV screen and wrote a bogus story about it.
Immediately made me think of Strong Bad and Trogdor. Good times...
Thanks for that, Thom. Very informative post.
Well I guess I'm not a gamer then...
I mean come on, they used UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. Of course they are going to be partying and getting drunk and using drugs.
Is it just me, or do these studies have to try harder and harder each time to prove a fact that is nonexistant?
Aha, got my hopes up and then viciously crushed them.
Honest mistake though, nothing to worry about.
I would like to see him try to accurately replicate over 700 cars, map out every inch of every course that will be in the game in real life, all the while hosting various car competitions and shows and even aiding in the design of a real car. This stuff takes a while.
Besides being absolute perfectionists, Polyphony is not solely a video game producer. I believe they designed and developed a dashboard (something like that with digital gauges that can measure various variables... ...
Dead weight? Like the Zune?
:)
You know that when people pay $40 for a demo of a game, said game will be amazing. It will sell well no doubt.
Nope, it was released on April 9, 2008.
Why do all these extremely late reviews come from Neocrisis? They must be pretty damn incompetent to be fail this hard.
The great thing about Sony is that they don't really have any Halos or Gears. The PS3 isn't relying on one or two great games to get it by; it has a whole bunch of them. And while those games may not receive tens across the board, or sell 2 million in the opening day, they all work together to achieve something great.
Even if Killzone 2 doesn't fully live up to expectations (and it won't, they hype is just too much) or even if it falls flat, there will always be other great games...
Is this a repost? I swear I've commented in this article a while ago. Anybody remember? I was the only one who enjoyed Bus Sim... I'll try to dig up the comments...
EDIT: Yep, a repost. Link to the other one (that was also featured on the front page): http://n4g.com/NewsCom-2549...
Except that they are all trolls, like you... By saying that nobody mentioned the 360, I should have clarified it as 'nobody that gets enjoyment out of bashing everyone who does not own the console that you do.'
@Jokesonyou
What on earth are you going on about? First, I don't see any Sony fanboys bashing the 360. I see them bashing Microsoft, but as you full and well know, the 360 is not Microsoft's only product. Second, the only reason people now care about ACES is b...
Man, I totally rape everyone at COD4. I know how this guy feels.
Oh, wait...
