I'm so bored of all these competitive shooter games. There's only so much you can do with competitive gaming when at it's core it's just a vs game. Kill or be killed. That's it.

What a bad memory you have. The PS3 launch was a disaster. $599/Riiiiiiiiidge Racer! Remember that E3 conference? That turned people off. The original PS3 model with the Spider-Man font was a flop. Sony didn't start turning things around until PS3 Slim. I was busy playing the online multiplayer with friends every night of the phenomenon that was Gears of War. What a legendary time to be a gamer.
Xbox 360 was a gigantic phenomenon. Where were you? Numbers don't matter. They bought the PS3. It doesn't mean they liked it or played it a lot. Xbox 360 is definitely the more memorable system from that generation. Even it's fail the TRROD is something famously remembered.

No, other remasters go all out. It's worth the money. Not this one though. Especially after the more recent amazing open world AC games. It makes older AC games harder to go back to.
