I don't need/want ads in my game, but people also over-index on patents. 99% of patents these big companies file don't ever become anything.
I hope he goes back to traditional games.
VR gaming is a flop and the Metaverse has (fortunately) completely failed to take off.
Apparently not (according to some).
Kojima and Microsoft got up at E3 and both lied together. And the leaked footage was obviously just UE marketplace assets.
They were. Just because you're #2 doesn't mean you're anywhere close to #1.
You can be 2nd in the World Cup and still be a mile off the performance of the team that wins it.
@Christopher Yes, please don't let them be put in my games :P
You're right - I wont be playing the game based on what I've seen in the demo + trailers. Maybe once it's heavily discounted or in PS+.
So the final game that is out in around 5 weeks is going to have far improved visuals and a far more fleshed out world?
The cutscenes are long indeed, every Kojima game sets a new record there :P
But the game was awesome, the second they showed that first E3 demo, it was clear it was going to be something special.
I still remember being mind blown by the Octocamo. It was also the first third person shooter game where I felt like the controls and aiming etc all went smooth / fluid and weren't janky. Hard to explain in words, but it felt 'natural' to aim, move et...
Looking forward to this. Definitely ready for more space horror after Callisto!
I've said it before, but I'll say it again, we are being spoiled for survival horror right now - Callisto, Dead Space and then RE4.
@Aloy Lol I highly doubt that. That game completely tanked and disappeared near immediately.
The story was a rollercoaster from start to finish. Probably my 1st or 2nd most favorite game on PS3 (the other being MGS4).
@TheKingKratos I've never been one to care what people thought of me. I express my opinions, people are welcome to disagree or have any opinion of me they want. Similarly, no one is forcing you to read my opinions.
I'm critical of the platform I play on when it is relevant because I care about the health of the platform and that the platform holder keeps making consumer friendly decisions. I'm not so attached to a product I bought that I can't criticize it.

He's not really wrong, but it's not down to her gender really. A guy or alien or whatever saying the same/similar lines with similar cadence would be equally as annoying.
"next-gen immersion" is not a phrase that comes to mind after playing the demo & seeing the barren world and questionable visuals that could clearly run on a PS4.
@TheKingKratos My opinion is only my opinion. We can all have our own and I encourage you to have your own too :P
My list would be:
1. Elden Ring
2. GoW Ragnarok
3. HFW
4. Callisto Protocol (Sorry Plague Tale fans, but I had more fun with this game)
5. Plague Tale
@S2 I’m likely not objective indeed - I really enjoyed ER.
But that’s also irrelevant since ER has already won GOTY.
@Nyxus I play on PS5 near exclusively (few games on PC), why would I dislike PS games?
Elden Ring trumps all of those by a mile though. GOTY.
Although arguably it’s not a true Single-player game with all the connected world parts.
@S2 it’s in Xbox GamePass for PC. Not sure if you can stream that to console or not.
But being on another platform doesn’t make this game any less of a chore. It can come to 20 platforms - it’ll still have the same issues.
Hard to say it’s anything but his weakest modern entry.
"Imagine playing a racing game and right after a long straight a billboard changes to Victoria's Secret Valentine's suggestions."
Didn't you just give the perfect example of an un-intrusive advert?
The most effective adverts are the subtle ones we see in the background and subconciously pay attention to (billboards, soda placements in TV shows etc.) and aren't shoved in our face / mandatory to stare at (e.g. TV adverts).
