I've yet to see a site write a preview that bashes a game though. Most professional media sites reserve harsh criticism until after the game is in final review form. Also, most of the previews are based on a very early demo.
I happen to love Socom. It was one of the first to do the third person military with such a high level of quality. So many others followed after it.
I'll have to try it. For some reason the most recent trailer with the two runners in it seemed to gel better with me. Maybe it was because I could see runner on screen even though I couldn't see myself.
It's just that the movement is so acrobatic and awesome it's a shame we can't see it more often. Does anyone else feel that way about this game?

I agree with you 100%. I saw the Green Lantern, Raiden, and Flash finishers and I thought it was strange that the Joker could have his be so awesome and theirs be so lame. Then I realized they nerfed the Jokers and that was it. I was all set.
You may want to reconsider that. Watch the Green Lantern and Flash brutalities on GT first. Even the Raiden one sucks.
The game looked good and as I understood it, as long as the blood wasn't persistent, it would be ok. Guess that wasn't good enough for the ESRB.

Immediately after that I hope that Jack Thompson decides to show people how games from his era were much less violent by reenacting a level of Frogger only to get hit by a car and die. One can dream.
See, the only thing that concerns me about that many people is that its probably more fun to watch (i.e. a giant movie scene battle) than it is to play.
Think about it. I am not saying I hope the game will suck, I'm just saying that most giant battles feature a lot of people dying quickly with one or two main character miraculously surviving because .... well because they are the main character.
