I for one, am looking for ODST. Looks promising. as for those who are complaining it's nothing more than an expansion; as far as I know just about every sequel for any franchise IS an expansion.

something similar happened to me, at first when I thought about getting into gaming, I had read about some adverts for the sega dreamcast, then I thought I could get this. However, my mom decided I'd get a PS1 instead (in 1999) so that means the dreamcast was about only 3 months old.
yep, the PSX introduced me to gaming. what a nice christmas it was back in 1999.
However: first, the "console war" began between the SNES and Genesis, and FFVIII has 4 discs.
Man I'm beginning to like this generation! with so many "coup de théâtre" this and last year, the infamous HD war is getting entertaining!
