The problem is that the rest of us have to deal with it while we wait for these other people to figure it out.
Just because a game has to be co-op does not mean it has to be a Destiny style GaaS clone. It also doesn't mean it can't be a good singleplayer game at the same time.
If I ever do buy this game - and thats a big 'if' - it wont be until everything is out and discounted to no more than the price of a single game all together. I full well expect to be a grandfather by the time that happens.
The only remake I'd want is FFIX but I wouldn't want any of the in house dev teams from SE anywhere near it. Maybe if it was Mist Walker or Blue point Games.

@Dragonscale New IPs =/= gameplay diversity. The gameplay in Sony's 1st party games tends not to diverge too far from whats readily available throughout the industry. The primary focus on story telling is the only thing that really sets them apart. And storytelling is not gameplay.
Nintendo, on the other hand, is constantly pursuing gameplay innovation. They've managed to keep things fresh EVEN while sticking to mainly classic IPs.
@JesusBuiltmyHotrod Not true. Nintendo is more diverse than Sony. Sony just needs to pull out some of their classic muscle like Twisted Metal, Syphon Filter, Jak & Daxter, Colony Wars, etc. They need to try to cover as many genres as possible while still maintaining their strong front of sp story based games.
Sony could stand to diversify a bit. Not that I'm wanting COD style MP games (too many of them, as it is).

I played through Zombie Army Trilogy with my best friend a few years back. It was pretty damn fun... besides all the really hard parts when my friend would troll me with a grenade at my feet.
