"What style Link is going to appear in" is pretty vague. At first I laughed because I thought they were referring to fashion--85% of Link's outfit never changes. But if he's referring to graphical style, that does change quite a bit. My personal favorite is the look of Hyrule in Twilight Princess.
This is ridiculous. People are so addicted to controversy that every little thing must be analyzed and blown out of proportion.

Level grinding is only part of the reasons I listed. There are plenty of American games that suffer from grinding, as well as plot and design issues. JRPG's typically have a combination of these factors.

People stopped accepting the cultural differences between JRPG's and Western RPG's. On one hand I can understand that, as some of the stuff in the Final Fantasy games (which is almost synonymous with JRPG's) was just bizarre. The plot, character designs and other choices made by the developers just didn't do it for me after awhile. Part of it is also failure to innovate (enough) and, like kma2K said, level grinding is a chore.

You are likely more connected to that fandom, but I personally don't hear anyone complaining about comic chicks. Most of them wear spandex bodysuits with most of their bodies hanging out and it's accepted. Like the other mediums I mentioned, it's a male-dominated industry and people look the other way.

I won't believe it until I see pix. Japanese game developers are hurting, and putting popular games on the back burner is necessary to make ends meet (it's already happened with two of the biggest titles this gen--The Last Guardian and FF Versus 13). They're too proud to admit it so they make up stories about quality assurance and so on, but face it--the Japanese game industry has seen better days.
I'm not exactly gonna pick up either game, uhhh...ever again, so.....
Seriously, this might have interested me 15 years ago. Now I'm sure both games could be found and played for nothing, so it's a moot point. Get both and race away.
