of course that didn't stop the sfags from coming in here and braying like a bunch of j@ck@sses, "Epic sucks, Unreal sucks, 360 sucks!!"
and look at Shadow Man's disproportionate amount of disagrees. obviously he's being tracked and nailed with blind disagrees, why would all the other comments' agrees/disagrees here come no where close to 16??? what a sad sad bunch you 360 haters are.
please go kill yourselves now.
the only fail is this article. blame 'lazy' devs, not an inanimate piece of software or even that software's creators. having "Epic's Fail" appear in the title is BS.
just figured out what puts me off: this game seems to take itself seriously. over-the-top is fine as long as you do it right. for ex, Crank was actually a great movie IMO because it knew exactly what it was (completely over-the-top action).
missed Crank 2 in the theaters, hopefully that 1 comes to XBL also.
exaggeration can be fun. esp. exaggerated sensuality. but something about Bayonetta puts me off, even though I realize those thick-rimmed glasses she's wearing are only there for sexiness (obviously it's ridiculous to have an arsenal of hair-attack spells but none for your near-sightedness when you intend to do all kinds of flippin & kickin).

nice blog, sorry I didn't come in sooner to comment (and that no one else is either, lol)!
too true, some people seem all too willing to demonize new media that they don't fully understand. hopefully I'll remember some of your excellent points the next time I feel compelled to defend my favorite pastime.
'you're dead wrong' perhaps I spoke a little strongly there. I will say that I'm a graphics whore. the advanced lighting effects alone make the game SO much prettier IMO, something I really want to sink in to.
sorry but while I gave agrees to some of you peoples' points above, I also gotta agree here. Fallout 3 has ironed out so many annoying little inconsistencies & the like over Oblivion, which was ALREADY h3lla-addictive IMO. each expansion has brought good things to Fallout 3 (again, more of my opinion on that over here >>> in Open Zone) and further refined some of the gameplay; esp. Broken Steel.
there are still some stupid little things just like in Oblivion. ex...
I have to disagree I think Fable 2 is the new worst offender. all that work gathering your 3 Heroes only to... well, I guess I shouldn't 'spoil' it here.
although on the other hand, since u can continue playing Fable 2 after the ending with new quests & mansions, u could consider all that after-play to be part of the ending and then it doesn't suck quite as bad. but then of course, on the other OTHER hand, now that u can do the same with Fallout 3 DLC (keep playing after ...
@Cookigaki: does the lvl 18 Ninja Perk count though? ;)
@all of u who said u love Fallout 3: agrees all around! check out my comments over there >>>, if u are on the fence about the DLC and want to know a little bit more. ...if u dare to visit the Open Zone, that is! MWAHAHA!! :)
**edit: MILD semi-spoilers here**
Operation Anchorage isn't great gameplay-wise, although it's nice to have a completely different-looking environment to work through.
but Op. Anchorage has 1 thing I couldn't do without once I 1st tried it: Chinese Stealth Armor (u get it after completing Op. Anchorage and coming back to the main game map).
and Into the Pitt has a truly weak story IMO, but d@mn if I didn't enjoy digging around for all 100 steel in...
actually I've been going back to Oblivion the past few days now that I have all 1350 achievement pts for Fallout 3, and you're dead wrong.
here I am back in Obliv, painstakingly (and artificially) leveling exactly 10 pts of 1 minor skill and then 10 pts of 1 major skill so that I get the full payout at level-up. meanwhile, Fallout 3 streamlined all of that with the Perks system, much better. and despite being lots o' shades of brown & grey, there's somehow more environmen...
yup. Hillary Clinton was scape-goating games in the Dem primaries.
it's called the AO (Adults Only) rating. devs won't really make em though, apparently that would sell even less than an M-rated game. I hear 18-34 males are the largest gaming demographic but somehow an AO rating is 'the kiss of death' for sales.
yup! good ol' puritanical america!
maybe when I'm 50+ we'll finally have had M-rated console games with bare-chested sexual activity, and an atheist president...
*sigh*
EDIT: woops! never played God of War (I know, I know) but I hear that has bare-chested ladies. it's still ridiculous that violence is more ok than sexuality in the US.
@devilhunterx
wait, what? u think Shane Kim won that? ok that's your 2nd dumb comment. I'm afraid that going to cost u bubbles... :(
well sh1t, NOW a couple days later The Spirit is avail. for download in movies Marketplace. *feels stupid*
idk MS created XBL which wasn't very me-too...
has there been news confirming Mass Effect 2 will be multi-plat? I must have missed that.
I know a lot of people on n4g suspect that ME2 will be multi-plat, thanks to EA's acquisition of Bioware and EA's multi-plat tendencies; but to my knowledge that's still just conjecture at this point.
I don't check n4g EVERY day, so feel free to correct me if I've already been proven wrong.
"...depends on your desire to play as a super-hero who has never starred in movies or decades of comics."
I'd say not being based on another franchise is a plus. it's more likely the game is trying to achieve sales on its own merits, rather than relying on the mainstream popularity of a recent film release.
