d@mn, now u got me started... how about (ME1) the intentional, delicious LACK of music/sound when Anderson freezes the eden prime video, focusing in on Sovereign? i think it's the 1st bit of silence in the game - used to excellent dramatic effect.
ME2 really disappointed with its reliance on hollywood-style fanservice, for ex bumping into too many familiar faces from ME1. sure, some of that was done reasonably well **SPOILER** Archangel **END SPOILER**... but compar...
mass effect original: pretty cool at the very beginning with the "quasi-futuristic" (mike myers voice, of course) minimalist music bleeding into the more 'traditional' orchestral stuff. and there are plenty of other excellent cut-scenes.
mass effect 2? epic cut scenes?? ...erm, not so much...
so far I'm impressed with runDLC.com's coverage of Arcade games...
@SpitFire I gave Hacker disagree and negative bubs BUT... you had to go and say "the little 10-14 year old kids shouting and screaming on XB live" FORCING me to remind all you PS3 fanboys in denial about immediate shut down of voice chat for Home due to rampant harassment/immature behavior. I will say some comments here have made me reconsider ignoring all claims of "bribery!". because the radio payola scandal(s) Cellypower is referring to^ is/are real. we went over this in my music business course at Clarion Univ.
so yes, these kinds of things DO happen.
bribe or no, direct or indirect (cash vs. 'payola' vs. advertising rights/$$), I'd say we can all pretty much agree CNN is unrealiable as far as gaming news/reviews...

I think you're giving the japanese a little too much credit. can't speak for MGS, never played any of them. but I CAN tell you that both ninja gaidens (3D, not the old NES stuff) cut scenes' are lol bad.
