This game looks phenomenal for sure!
I've liked everything from Guerrilla Games since Killzone 2, but I think this game could be the one to elevate the Studio to Naughty Dog level status.
They always had the technical talent, artistry, solid gameplay creation and awesome audio design guys too, but since they shipped Shadow Fall they've hired some of the industry's best developers to really grow as a studio.
When I read that they'd hired peo...
Very true, it's just a load of gibberish and literally makes zero sense.
To deal with the article's (if you can call it an article) title, Insomniac have made an amazing Ratchet & Clank recently for PS4, by the accounts of many Xbox gamers Sunset Overdrive was a lot of fun too.
Now they've also made some smaller projects, along with VR titles, seems like they're trying to cover all basis for their future as a studio.
I think gamers shou...
No DX12 doesn't require engines to be built from the beginning with it in mind, they can be changed to accommodate DX12 if they're coming from a DX11 base or any other alternative API like OpenGL to Vulkan.
The major points of DX12 are to allow for CPU workloads to be spread across all cores and for communication to the GPU to not be bottle workloads by having to use a single CPU core to "talk" to the GPU.
Essentially a rework from single core chatter, to a...
I think that Square and Crystal Dynamics have said it will come sometime this Fall.
According to wikipedia the game's been in planning since June 2014 and development was meant to be underway by March 2015, this is sourced.
On the Titanfall 1 wikipedia page it states that game was developed by 65 people, Respawn has 140 people working there now, but they're also developing a third person Star Wars game, so resources are split between 2 projects.
It's possible initial planning could have finished by August and development began then, but that wou...
GT Sport isn't GT7, it's got newer features that set it apart from the numbered Gran Turismo games.
The next game will likely be called Gran Turismo 7.
@Crimzon: It's a subjective thing for that developer. Evidently PD considers having a working title they can show off to the public and let them try out to be at the 50% complete state.
The next 50% will be about actually combining all completed assets into the final package and refining the games code (otherwise known as optimization) for launch.
FYI games usually go gold about a month before release to give the publishers time to print discs ready for launch ...
@Zeldafan64: FYI Wii U was using IBM PowerPC CPU technology, the same as PS3 and Xbox 360, this generation 3rd party games are built around X86 technology, so the comment from the CEO of Ubisoft was talking about a time and type of development of games released for the 7th gen consoles.
Of course it would be easy to port games between say 360 and Wii U, because both of those systems used AMD GPUs and IBM CPUs, along with the same kind of memory set-up.
Ubisoft woul...
I doubt anyone at the store level of Gamestop knows what specs or price-point Nintendo will be shooting for.
If gamestop have a price-point set for their systems, then it's some figure they made up to put some price-point in their system, an invention by them and nothing more.
We don't really have an exact clue what level of performance NX will have, but it's a fact that if Nintendo wants third party games support from big publishers then it at least ne...
So a well thought out, unused setting before this game is Naughty Dog running out of ideas?
Have they ever used dynamic destruction, open world, fresh stealth mechanics like this or vehicle exploration and combat controllable by the player before?
Logical design processes and iterated technology that make perfect sense and expand on previously more limited design choices is somehow running out of ideas? LOL I've heard everything when it comes to platform bias n...
Maybe the lack of specs from Microsoft just means they're releasing a slim XB1, with the same specs, but manufactured at 14nm, instead of 28nm.
The way Phil was talking before it sounded more like Microsoft wants to go down the upgrade capable route, so it's possible that Microsoft box will have it's APU and DDR3 modules built on an MCM which you can swap out, no need for screw drivers or anything like that, just un-clip and replace.
I've seen peopl...
At 14nm more eSRAM could be included on die, like 64MB+ cache, along with a bigger bus for DDR3.
As far as I'm aware Microsoft's whole development initiative moving forward is about ease of porting between all windows devices, so an updated XB1 could use a more standard form of VRAM like GDDR5, GDDR5X or HBM.
MS would just need to up the quantities of RAM and/or bandwidth to feed a bigger GPU.
I wouldn't be surprised if any of the above ended u...
@danny818: I didn't say XB1 has no exclusives, I said it has a lack of exclusives, because the output from MS, when it comes to games you can only play on XB1 is pitiful, which is the truth.
The only exclusives on the platform are Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5 and if no Windows 10 version is announced Gears 4, that's it, 3 exclusives, for a whole console, with nothing else new, even Wii U has a better line-up of exclusives to that.
You can't honestly see 3 e...
@HomeofGaming: Actually no I wasn't saying anything of the sort, I most definitely didn't say that NX doesn't make sense.
You need to actually read a comment and comprehend what's being written before replying.
A new platform makes sense, what doesn't make sense is giving some vague statement that said new platform is coming at some point, when you have no plans to launch that system anytime soon or even talk about what it is and show what it ha...
As I said in my post earlier the reason for NX coming in early 2017 could be because that's when the tech Nintendo wants to use in it are going to be ready or when Nintendo will be able to manufacture enough quantities of hardware to be able to launch the new platform.
It may be a coincidence, but AMD will have Zen based APUs ready in 2017, this could be what's in NX.
Polaris for the GPU wouldn't be that expensive, not when you consider that AMD have sa...
@KwietStorm: I'm just trying to make sense of why Nintendo are launching the NX in March 2017.
Though I will say I'm entitled to annoyed at how Nintendo are handling all of this business, it's a true shambles and something they need to sort out soon.
There has been enough waiting by their customer base.
Fans are the ones that have supported Nintendo and Nintendo have repeatedly failed to give the fans what they want.
Personally I'v...
Well Sony makes sense if the PS4K/Neo rumors are true, it just adds an option for potential new PS4 buyers, plus the OG PS4 can just be dropped in price to appeal to people that don't want to spend what a PS4K/Neo could cost.
PSVR is another option too, nothing but positives there really.
Nintendo handling their platforms like this and Microsoft's lack of exclusives for XB1 is completely lacking all sense.
The only logical line of thinking I can see to this is that March 2017 is when the processing technology Nintendo wants to use in NX is available in large enough quantities.
It could be that they're using an SOC/APU with a multicore Zen CPU and that's when quantities of that tech are available to Nintendo.
Zen could offer something 2X more powerful than AMD Jaguar at 10 watts, pack in a 20CU Polaris GPU at 800Mhz and you have a handheld, that could easily r...
Zelda for Wii U has been delayed into 2017 as well, it's not releasing on Wii U this year.
Most likely both the Wii U and NX version will release on the same day, unless the NX version takes a bit longer to come out, but it seems likely that the Wii U version was delayed to get the game on both systems day one.
This is great too hear, so now we have GT Sport, The Last Guardian and Ni-Oh confirmed for 2016.
Seems like Guerrilla Games would have said if they needed to delay Horizon into 2017 if extra development time was needed, so that will likely also hit in the second half of this year.
Awesome second half of 2016 indeed IMO.
E3 should be packed with new footage for those games and many others!
