PlayStation 4 is the new generation market leader yet absurdly EA has partnered with Microsoft making this exclusive to Xbox One. This speaks volumes. It highlights the strength of the Peter Moore & Phil Spencer relationship and of the power of Microsoft dollars.
PlayStation Plus' Instant Game Collection should be banned.
I was happily minding my own business buying games and completing them. Then the IGC came along and started giving subscribers access to all these great AAA games. Not all of them are my cup of tea however it has allowed me to discover some gems that I might not otherwise have tried. The problem is as I own a PS3, PS4 and Vita I just don't have the time to play all the games I'm given and there are some ...
It's funny how Polygon only deem this worthy of a review update, an amendment to the end of the original text. I suspect when Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released they will go the whole hog and give it a separate review.
The original The Last of Us PS3 game was rated 10 out of 10 by so many media outlets. The PS4 remaster has upgraded graphics, the extra DLC and more. So I find it absurd that some more partisan media outlets like Polygon and CVG are criticising it because the game is not 'original.' There are reviewers who are rating it down because it was first a PS3 game, however the reality is the remaster is probably one of the very best titles available on PS4 and anybody who is new to the PlayS...

That's funny, only last night I was watching The Sixth Sense. Such a great kid actor in it and Spielberg's A.I. So it's a bit strange seeing him as an adult.
Better with the Beta than the final game.
The Atari E.T. buried cartridge story was a legendary almost-myth of gamer culture. In a way it feel the dig spoils the mysterious story gamers all shared.
I am looking forward to watching this although the programme is based on all the good work done by blogger whose name is now forgotten by history. Major Nelson was on site at the dig and tweeted loads of pics with his face in them, I'd prefer it if the doc is presented by someone else.
I'm not a fan of Polygon or Plant's writing because of what I perceive their blatant bias. However this article is such a great idea, showing gamers as kids in front of their home computers and games consoles, very sweet and shows how we get gripped by this wonderful hobby from an early age.
I've got this on pre-order but not sure whether to follow through. I don't know anybody in the real world who has plAyed the PS3/360 version. It looks fun but I haven't got time for a game that is merely good, it has to be great. Any ideas?
"Best Buy Accidentally Sold $45 Xbox One Consoles."
Surely this will help it outsell the PlayStation 4 this month... won't it?
THIS IS DIGITAL FOUNDRY'S WORST AND MOST POINTLESS COMPARISON.
First they are briefly comparing the out of date 900p XB one build to the 1080p PS4 beta, then they say it doesn't count because the final version of the XB one version will be 1080p, then they compare the PS4 beta to the XB one 1080p video released by IGN and say judging by that they are pretty much equal - although the video compression affects the appearance so the actual game would look even better. Th...
EDIT: Duplicate post.
I'm so looking forward to No Man's Sky and have got to respect Sony for making this game possible and literally giving it a world stage at E3 this year.
With the PS3 gen Sony took a chance on so many experimental games that other publishers might have thought were uncommercial. Flower, Journey, Heavy Rain and many more were all different from the usual dude bro FPS games, but Sony believed in them, invested in them and promoted them despite being unproven.

The question was written to entice clicks, so fans of the second best version can actually think the answer is open to debate!
No surprise one console's screens look better than the rest. It's so obvious I don't even need to say it and you know it too!
@IcicleTrepan It's not just resolution that determines whether two versions of a game will have graphical parity, it's also the quality of the textures, the amount of special graphical effects and how well they run overall.
Digital Foundry have examined the unfinished PS4 alpha and beta, it would be good if they also look at the unfinished XB one beta.
Right feature, wrong console.
Definitely an indirect jab at Sony regarding the firmware debate raging on NeoGaf. Same old Microsoft with the jabs but Phil Spencer hides it better than Greenberg and Nelson.
But competition is good and maybe Sony will listen and start being more open with their Firmware plans instead of leaving PS4 owners looking up to the stars waiting for news of an update.
The list just goes to show how immensely important Monster Hunter is to the Japanese. Capcom must have a really strong partnership with Nintendo otherwise they would want this on as many systems as possible.
JRPGs is the genre with the most desired games. Old 360 SquareEnix exclusive The Last Remnant is on the list, does this mean a PS3 version is incoming?
