The bottom line is that what seemed like a great deal going exclusive with the Xbox 720 turned out to lose Crytek all those potential PS4 customers and profits - it's the same mistake that EA made with Titanfall.
It wasn't a great game anyway but PS4 owners who fill they've missed out there is one silver lining. Crytek's Brian Chambers says "Currently there is no announcement regarding RYSE coming to PS4." Which quite frankly leaves the door open to...
So this is NOT the same as Hotline Miami at because that is based in Miami and this is based in Los Angeles.
That is set in the eighties and this is set in the seventies!
That has 8-bit graphics and this has 16-bit graphics!
So obviously LA Cops has been inspired by Hotline Miami - but I still want to play it!
I don't think Microsoft will restrict these Let's Play videos. However an unnamed help desk guy doesn't mean it's official. You need a Spencer or a Harrison to spell out their policy.
I've got a friend who is mad into his FPS games, always wants to be the best at them. In Call of Duty often got into top 1000 on 360. Now he has a XBO but chooses to play FPS games on PS4 because he says there are more gamers and matches in Destiny/Call of Duty/Battlefield/etc. He says because there are more people playing online on PlayStation 4 it means getting a high ranking is MORE of a challenge - so when you are the best on PS4 you are the best.
Another White Knight article by some fool trying to get cool point kudos by being politically correct and telling gamers what they should or should not be playing.
The GTA games are not about being politically correct, in fact they are deliberately not. It's like the film reviewers who criticise Tarantino films for having violence and using certain words. If you don't like it don't watch it!
I'm adult, in the real world I try and treat everyo...
Too much news is recycled from other websites (!) but Giuseppe this is a good change. Provided it all been checked out I wish the fella and his family well. His comment "see you starside" really got me in the gut. :(
I hate these White Knight articles by amateur 'journalists' that think they have got the right to tell gamers what is acceptable and what is not.
Whilst Oculus Rift boob games are not at the top of my pre-order list I see no harm as long as they feature consenting adults. Over the years there have been many games that have allowed you to date NPC and this just makes it a tad more interactive!
It's easy to try and intimidate gamers into staying aw...
Although Pachter does get it wrong most times I do absolutely agree that this move by Microsoft is one where they are thinking about their long term future. A future where they are purely software developers again.
Windows OS and Office are their core business and is what generates their profits. But with Surface and Windows Phone and even Xbox these are beneficial because to MS because they maintain the Windows customer base however they have yet to generate net profit. So a...
It IS a Microsoft rule - but we have to wait and see if they enforce it.
Their statement yesterday acknowledged the Minecraft community, who are a big part of the reason Microsoft wanted this IP. There are guys like Stampy and Captain Sparklez who have a massive worldwide following on YouTube so I would think it unlikely that Microsoft would try and change that.
If Microsoft did enforce this Im sure a new Minecraft clone would spring up and the community woul...
Pachter is such a Microsoft fanboy. PlayStation 4's sales success has been killing him and he's been waiting a long time for good news. But as an impartial analyst should he really be acting as an XBO cheerleader?
I thought this clown quit the industry. Last time I heard from him he was complaining how Sony were destroying his life because they didn't give him his free launch PS4 and games much earlier then the public! And they say gaming journalist aren't overpriveleged.
Even though it is one of my favourite franchises I deliberately avoided GTA V when it was released last year because I strongly suspected there would be a next-gen version. I waited and I was right!
The new-gen trailer looks phenomenal and the fact that the footage was taken directly from the PlayStation 4 edition reassures me about the quality and the graphical leap from last-gen.
The Last of Us Remastered demonstrated that a HD remake that is more than just...
The gaming press are very unhappy because they feel Bungie giving them review copies late undermined them and their importance to the gamer.
Microsoft are finding that the PR tactics they used last generation (saying whatever they wanted the press to believe regardless of truth) just won't wash. Gamers and Gaffers are checking the veracity of their claims.
Too many times on Xbox Wire they have made bold claims and then used the asterisk to qualify them. Eg claiming certain multiplats are exclusive, claiming 5 million units sold to customers then withdrawing the claim - now this. Mistakes are understandable b...
Polygon still smarting at the PlayStation partnership!
The successful Destiny launch without media reviews demonstrated that game 'journalists' reviews are not as important to gamers as they like to think they are.
Palmer Luckey is just being insulting about the competition but he has no reason to sling mud.
He has created the Oculus Rift and the final product has so much great potential. So why the backhanded insults? He criticises Sony for [possibly] not supporting their product or the PlayStation 4 in eight years time!
The reality is he doesn't like a competing product to be on the market and he thinks he is in a position to pass judgement on all other products. ...
The commentator thinks the acquisition of Mojang by Microsoft signals their desire to make the Xbox division attractive to any potential buyers - I disagree.
I think most commentators on N4G, myself included, can tell you that is a strange deduction. When you are looking to sell you don't SPEND $2 Billion! Minecraft, appealing as it is, is not the one IP that would make a company want to buy Xbox, MS already have Halo.
Microsoft's purchase of Gears of...
Maybe I shoulda put this at the end? ;)
I know what you mean but in these days of cross platform apps, where Sony and Microsoft have pass on iOS and Android, it will be fine to see the Microsoft Game Studios logo on the PlayStation game.
If Microsoft are clever they should also release the Halo terrain pack on PS4. In no way will it hurt them but it will actually help advertise the main franchise and they will find that it actually sell on PS4.
