The article writer is taking the wrong angle because these two games are not up against each other by being on sale at the same time. Rather they are both two new triple-a IP with a good window apart that will each benefit PlayStation 4.

New year game releases are normally thin on the ground so the fact that PS4 is getting these big games early in the year is a real boon for the platform. Less competition hopefully means more people will notice and buy these games.

I think Microsoft will have more announcements to come including some interesting things to reveal at the Windows 10 event next week. The concern is that for the first half of the year the Xbox One release schedule is bereft of big name exclusives and indie exclusives. Regardless of whether you are looking forward to them or not for PS4 there is The Order and Bloodborne and a stream of indies and it's good for consumers because they are more likely to notice games in this Q1&2 releas...

One of the most shameful things about the industry is the amount of 'attack previews' of this game judged on non-final code of one game level. If the game is bad, use a review to tell us - not a playable demo at an expo. It smacks of unprofessionalism.

The reality is that PS4 is starting 2015 with a major game franchise being released and the fanboys are not happy about it.

Of course delays suck, but just think of all those gorgeous mods that will be incoming!

I don't think the word 'honoured' should be used if money was exchanged.

2015. Also look out for:

* Gears of War: Marcus Fenix Collection.
* Fable Legends
* Halo 5

Forza Horizon 3 in 2016?

A great chess move by Microsoft. Control the digital promotion of content at the USA's biggest store and they can influence what products are promoted and purchased. The anti-gamer anti-consumer aspect is that recommendations will be heavily bias in favour of Xbox One products regardless of their particular wants or needs. It's hard to believe that customised purchase suggestions will list Wii U or PS4 products above XBO products.

"Microsoft Have Been Consistently Improving Xbox One's GPU Performance"

Yes I have read the non-stop fluff-pieces from Digital Foundry & Polygon espousing how it is a much more powerful console. The idea being to convince gamers that there is no power differential between it and its main competitor. However this PR approach might backfire. The non-stop stories underline to gamers that it is always playing catchup in the hardware stakes.

I don't think they should abandon fixed released dates which are helpful for stores to order the correct allocation and for customers to have a rough idea when a game comes out (it nice to plan how to spend your pennies!)

What they shouldn't do is reveal a game too early. I'd say a maximum of 1.5 years before big name releases is a fair amount of time to generate hype in the press without leading to hype-fatigue.

In short, when a game is initially...

Microsoft is a software company first. Whilst they will try and grow their hardware divisions boss Satya Nadella recognises that their future survival depends on being platform agnostic, that's why he made sure that Office was released on iPad (the code was already complete but old boss Steve Ballmer refused to release it fearing it would damage Windows Surface sales).

Despite the massive user base and very high game sales the Xbox division doesn't actually make a pro...

Ha ha great story! So although Xbox One has a smaller user base than PlayStation 4 it still [beats it] in the most porn-watchers stakes. So what can we extrapolate from these findings about Xbox owner proclivities?

4179d ago 5 agree2 disagreeView comment

This is significant. It means Microsoft are unifying Windows and Xbox, the question is how and to what degree?

Anybody can predict that XBO may become more W10 like. But what if Win10 allows you to play Xbox One games?!!!!!

"While we await the final sales figures from the entire holiday season, including the sales from after Christmas and all the kiddies cashing in their gift cards, there is little doubt the Xbox One outsold the PlayStation 4 yet again."

Talk about conjecture! Maybe it did outsell and maybe it didn't. But the strong sales of both PS4 and XBO mean it's premature to call one the winner. And to say XBO has outsold the PS4 'Yet again' is just silly because ...

There has been a lot of good PlayStation news this week so it was obvious that somebody would want to counterbalance that. But I will bite!

Silly to compare the failure of Kinect 2 (this gen product) with PS Move (last-gen product). The PS Move died when Sony stopped releasing games for it back in 2012. Yes it's being used in the development versions of Project Morpheus, And if the VR headset makes it to market it could well make a comeback.

"we make sure each platform is pushed to its limits."

You hear that Ubisoft? No parity clauses to artificially restrain the quality of one format. They are just making their game be the best it can be on EVERY platform.

4181d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

After Ubis**t's decision to make the game with parity I won't buy the game even if it is just one pound because I don't want to reward them for their anti-gamer stupidity. As a massive AC fan I will only buy this second-hand.

For whatever reason many other gamers aren't buying it either. In the week before Christmas HMV were selling it for just £26 which is remarkably cheap considering they sell most new games for £55.

Here's the full list of THIRTY games that the article is referring to that was posted on N4G yesterday, thankfully all on one page so no need to click. I was reading up and the mad thing is there are still so many more. PS4 has such a great selection of games in 2015!

The article states "SingStar: Ultimate Party scored a 44/100, due to its smartphone mic app being almost useless" -This is simply not true. Yes some reviewers didn't like the game but the mic app works perfectly.

The inaccurate presentation of facts reveals the bias of the article to fit an agenda about which console is 'worst.'
