I like Pachter as he is friendly and has some good insights into how big business works... But on this issue he is speculating based on those dodgy rumours and he will be proven wrong again!
I love Sorcery but it's incorrect to describe it as "a massive, open-world fantasy adventure.' This may give the impression that it is a big budget game like The Elder Scrolls.
Sorcery is a choose your own path fantasy book that has been directly bought to the screen but with a pretty graphical interface.
They are all wrong. The PS4 will not get a gameplay spec bump.
Although it's possible the PS4 will be revised with a slim 4K video capable model.
And if indeed Sony are putting out the feelers for a 4K model then this will be for the PS5.
A 'high profile' Nintendo employee wouldn't be privy to Nintendo's plans.
The NX would be classified info that only the top execs would know.
@KiwiViper. In the case of Lionhead some of the senior staff posted tweets that revealed they We're notified about the closure on the same day Microsoft posted the public statement.
Judging from the one to two hours I played the beta it seemed like fun with a lot of potential for laughs when playing with friends. Ultimately I think the game was ruined by its business model of being a full priced game with F2P micro-transactions.
F2P works on smartphones and there are some games on console that are profitable but they are the exception. I hope developers study this case so they don't repeat it.
BEING CRITICAL IS NOT TROLLING..
The N4G mods need to look at abuse of the reports system.
I made a fair comment on the issue (which I understand that not everybody will agree with) but it was relevant and focused on the topic. Then you get people using the 'Trolling' tag to hide it. This isn't right.
That's seriously underhand and grubby.
The thing is that is Microsoft who would have suggested the ad to IGN.
This comes just days after the whole Microsoft / Machinima controversy was revisted by the FTC for the fake reviews of Xbox One on YouTube.

The article says "October 16th is the date when the PlayStation VR is coming"
Really? I haven't read that anywhere else.
Sorry to be a stick in the mud but as with stories on N4G regarding different territories, this headline should say "Amazon USA Chat Confirms" USA being the operative word because Amazon UK, FR, DE and probably many other territories Amazon do offer pre-orders of the PSVR.
The N4G is not exclusively American, the websites that want to succeed would do well to remember that!
@Lennoxb63 For gamers in the know, the status quo of the Japanese games market is already familiar to us. However we mustn't forget that there are always new gamers coming here and reading and learning so often this news is especially relevant to inform them.
The other thing to remember is that despite the deliberately controversial title of this particular story WE can still learn something from the Japanese m-create charts. For example just how strong handhelds are reg...
@TheXgamerLive For nearly two years I have been reading comments from people here that say that DX12 would give the XBO equal or better performance than the PS4. Now that a major game, Star Wars Battlefront, has been revealed to be using DX12, but did not get the expected resolution bump, you are saying it because DICE did it wrong and they only used 15% of DX12! SMH!
I'm not a programmer but even I can tell you that DX12 is not an energy switch - they are either using it...
@kdmitchell_toh. Should we only compare markets where a favourite brand is performing better? I don't think the factual sales figures from a specific market should be banned from discussion.
It makes you wonder what the XBO resolution and frame rate would have been without DX12.
Koei Tecmo should offer the full game as a digital download for the people that want it - sadly websites like Polygon and Kotaku pressured them into dropping the western release.
@Tobsesan Hardware pricing is not decided on a whim or in reaction to a competitor. Like Sony did with PS4 they would have planned for it to be as cheap as possible so they made sensible hardware compromises. They could have made a VR set with the same spec as HTC Vive but it would not have a mass market price. So Sony balance power with affordability. Pricing would have been decided way in advance of release.
Sony has been market leader of this generation but the PSVR pre-order success shows they have been able to keep up the momentum of making it a go-to place for gaming.
A guy at work who is one of the biggest Xbox fans going. He said that the hype around this game is real and that Quantum Break will be the game-changer for Xbox One that will help Microsoft get a sales lead in the USA!
No matter how good Quantum Break turns out to be, I seriously doubt it will have the mainstream draw of a Halo game and I can't see how QB will bring in bigger sales than Halo 5 or even Tomb Raider. I'm not saying it won't be good, I just don't ...
Rob Crossley used to write for CVG.
In an old CVG podcast that I have he slated Sony for not having produced the 360 and the PS3 calling it 'a piece of ****.'
On a Gamespot video of their writers talking about what they like or don't like about the new gen consoles he slated the PS4 interface.
Know the background and then you understand which side his bread is buttered!
Paragon WILL be coming to Xbox One.
When it was revealed at Sony's Paris conference it was never said that it was a PS4 exclusive in the same way that No Man's Sky had the 'console exclusive' label, just that it would be a launch exclusive. Considering most exclusive windows run for one year the only question is will Paragon come to XBO in late 2016 or 2017?
