The reason for this is of course they don't want to see these games because they want to believe the wii is crap which will make them feel better about the wii outselling their HD consoles.

the only console that has a chance of emulating what the ps2 did is the wii. The wii is outselling the ps2 which is an achievement the ps3 and 360 have got nowhere near achieving. All the wii needs is more core games and they will come. EA have already confirmed that their future core titles will be hitting the wii and nintendo will soon be releasing core games to complement games such as the conduit and madworld. Dragon quest and monster hunter will be knockout blows for microsoft and sony it all depends on when they will be released.
Its funny to note that wii haters cheer when the wii is 'slowing down' but fail to realise it is still ahead. At least the wii actually sped up at a point in its life....

its not nintendo that decided to stop making madden or whatever its the 3rd parties. Games are still made for the ps2 because of its hge userbase! If you think that games won't be made for the wii after its replaced then I feel sorry for you. It makes no commercial sense for companies to release games on the GameCube or the Xbox 1 as they will not make money off them. Similarly if a playstation or an xbox has dire sales it will not be continually supported. Simple.
NES games were still being released until a couple of years ago. If the gamecube had been a commercial success I am sure we would have seen a few games still popping up for it now too.

Anyway well done UK! Quite an achievement considering the size of the UK and some other markets. Japan has 12 cities with populations of over a million, whereas the UK can only really say that about 3 of its cities - London, Manchester, Birmingham. Well done UK.

I don't think you had a point except saying that no console will die and all are doing okay in the UK market which is obvious to anyone. The snow has melted in Manchester :(
I also live in the UK and I know 5 people with 360's and 1 person with a ps3. DOes that mean the 360 outsells the ps3 5-1 in the UK? NO! Your anecdotal evidence is worthless. And if you want actual figures check out chart track and you will see that the 360 has a comfortable lead in the UK over the ps3. Its just how it is.

As for sales they have both practically tied in 2007 and 2008 now. Sony needed a price cut in 07 to compete and MS needed it in 08. Its just business and if the companies needed to they cut the price again.
so if they miss it it will be a disaster as it was set intentionally low to avoid another fiscal year 2007 for the ps3 where sony had to downsize expected sales 4 times.
They need 1.5 million in jan-march to make it and i'm certain they will and all will be dandy.
It will be interesting to see what they expect to sell in new figures in april. If its 10 million again then no price cut confirmed. Surely they gotta aim for more next year!
yes MS do channel stuff. But so do sony. They did it in last years Q3 and I think the same will occur this year. However sony do already have enough shipped to meet their targets for teh fiscal year with a poor next quarter (they need around 1.5 million shipped.)
neither side can brag about losses. MS have lost 6 billion since the entered the market and have only just turned profitable in the last 2 years - 6-7 years after entering the market!
And sony have lost all the ps2 profits since the ps3 was released. If you don't believe me check the past game division results. Since 1998 when the ps1 was in its pomp and sony started to separate its game division for financial figures, SOny has made a loss.
