Yeah it still is a decent game no doubt about that but IMO it doesn't live up to its "Socom" name. But, maybe I'm just being too critical of this game because I was once a die-hard Socom player. It bothers me when you realize the game is nowhere close to being like the original Socom's.

I am probably one of the biggest Socom fan here but I wholeheartedly agree with the score. Socom Confrontation really really let me down. Don't get me wrong though because I still play this game from time to time but I just don't find the addictiveness I once had when Socom 2 was in its prime. To me, Socrack is no more.

The PlayStation's always had groundbreaking exclusives. I'm not surprised that the PS3 claiming that title too. I knew I picked the right console again.

I really doubt your PS3 overheated and killed itself.
Yes the PS3 can overheat BUT you do know that the PS3 auto shuts-down when it gets too hot right? It's a failsafe that ALL PS3's have.
I've been through it once when CoD4 came out but its been fine ever since. Never had to send it to Sony ever.
Hopefully I don't fall for the GTA hype again. GTA4 scored the best scores too but was a total let down IMO.
