MGS4 = 3 to 4 hours play time and 16 hours of audio/video cutscenes.

The difference between Mass Effect and MGS4.

Is that Mass Effect has a better balance between watching and playing. In Mass Effect you are not bombarded with 2 hour cutscenes of overly ambigous pretentious nonsense. In Mass Effect you direct the flow of conversion with choice. In Mass Effect your choices can lead to action rather than more diologue. In Mass Effect you had a fantastic story and interesting characters.
